EVE nerds will get mad at this request but fact is if u wanna keep console gamers the game needs to have the option and imma point out why
Console kids got ADHD and when u nerf something they spent weeks/months gettin into it turns ppl off the game cuz the stuff they using is usually obsolete when ccp nerfs ****.
NO casual console kid is then gonna spend weeks/months training up something else instead they will leave.
This is where Respec for X AUR is good.......it keeps the game FRESH, allows ppl to try **** out, hell id love to just dump all my SP and try and make a silly fit with knives etc but i cant because my role is a tanker and i cant spend a bunch of SP on a silly fit that would take months of grinding and frustration just for a few lulz? ty but no thnx
This game has no "fun factor" to it because every little mistake u try is punished or god forbid u wanna have FUN with a troll scout knife fit for a weekend.
CCP its a win win situation, u get $$$ from AUR respecs and the playerbase has something to do to keep the game fresh. Ignore that this isnt an option in EVE......this is DUST......a console FPS marketed for console kids always keep that in mind.

Absofrickinlutely not! Are you on a slosh op with DS right now? That becomes insta P2W. I understand looking at it from a 'just for the lulz' perspective and lords knows Dust could use some out and out 'fun' but not that way, not ever. We should have respects along the lines of changing your attributes in Eve, a couple a year and an extra free one on a new toon for when you screw up. Charge AUR or ISK if you want or give them away, a money maker and an ISK sink or a free service. But being able to pay whenever to run the meta with no effort is bad. |

Even though I've just created a topic in support for a Respec. The service to Respec on Demand is just ridiculous.
I mean maybe they could allow it once per year, or at a very large War Point Mile Stone. OR even as I've stated after large Game Changers, but on demand will break the game. |

+1 Mavado.
CCP made Dust for the dedicated console players, NOT the EVE players that wanted to and was able to play Dust. Sure if the EVE players want to play Dust let them, but the game should not be focused around them. That's what I thought CCP was trying to do when they went to the PS3 instead of the PC, and especially when they stated they did this to catch all the dedicated console players. Remember they said this themselves, yet it seems like they're trying to push these same dedicated console players away.
An implemented respec system would be great. I don't really care if it's just 5 respecs a year, or if you lose x amount of your total SP everytime you respec (could be 500k SP for example), so that people wouldn't just spam respecs. |

There should be both ISK and AUR respecs but they should take some time and some SP should be lost. AUR respecs could take one day and ISK respecs three days for example.
EDIT: During that time you would be unable to play. |

First, speak for yourself. I've only played console games. I've also been running the same set up (Assault AR) for over a year now. I picked CalAssault over CalLogi when they were first dropped. I picked SMGs over Flaylock Pistols. Last build I specced all the way into Rapid Reload Pro just because I liked the idea of shooting and reloading just a little bit faster. I certainly have not had my play style drastically changed like some other 'classes' - Heavies, Tanks, and Scouts to name a few, but If CCP were to nerf my whole suit to oblivion, I'd just throw it on, go out there, and get what I could.
As far as paid respecs go, I am against it. All it does is feed the "FOTM" culture we are starting to develop now. While I don't think there should be any resets barring a truly game altering change, "Dropships no longer exist" for example, I could possibly agree with periodic resets or X number of free resets over Y time period were I forced to make a change. The biggest problem I see in free respecs, outside of deteriorating the culture of "All of your actions have weight" in DUST, is that people will skill into something slightly (or grossly) unbalanced and ride that wave until a nerfing period. Then they'll respec, go into the next FOTM and repeat that cycle for as long as they want to harvest tears. So forever. If there was a respec given every 6 months, every year, or one of the more nuanced options like a Skill Back module, I would be a little more okay.
However, I do think that the difference between playing in the academy and playing with the rest of New Eden is so different that it could boarder on "Game Altering" for new players. At least in DUST's current state. If there were an optional, timed respec - that is to say that you only have three days to use this respec before it vanishes from your inventory, I would be okay. |

No F'ing way!!!!
It instantly makes a game with consequence have no consequence. The game becomes pay to win overnight and a poor mans COD.
CCP have said that they want the dedicated console players that is true. What your omitting for the sake of support in your argument is that they have always said just after saying that they want the console players players tired of the lack of meaning and lack of consequence in their FPS's.
As for 'accommodating' the ADD riddled type of player for the sake of profit, I'll kick that into touch right now. Activision and EA went after that crowd and instantly pussified their games to click and win. So as far as I'm concerned I don't want those with the attention span of a goldfish anywhere near Dust. The door couldn't hit them in the arse on their way out hard enough as far as I'm concerned.
If your the sort of player who can't handle a long term plan, think beyond your own selfish needs, can't pause to think about the consequence of SP expenditure. This is NOT the game to be playing.
Go back to COD and BF. Back to the unimaginative sequels twice a year. Back to shelling out -ú150 for a super limited to only 50000 collectors editions with a badge that's a different colour from last years super limited to only 50000 collectors edition. Back to a community that is full of other ADD riddled morons screaming abuse at you for nicking 'their' sniping spot. Back to no meta game and playing with muted voice coms because of the screaming.
You won't be missed.
And as for a consequence, how is this for one.
If the game becomes pay to win in this or any other way then what role would DUST University have in that scenario? None as far as I could see. What's the point for us to continue teaching new players the pitfalls and how to avoid poorly informed SP spending if at any time you can simply pay to correct any mistake you made?
I've no interest in playing a COD clone. So why would I run a training corp in one? Why would we need one? Why should I bother if I don't get the satisfaction that I get from helping others in a tough game?
I'm confident that I can speak for the entirety of D-UNI's senior management and instructors that they'd have no interest in continuing in a PTW enviorment. And probably the majority of our mercs are likely to feel the same way too.
And the Eve players will get spooked too. If Dust goes PTW, it'll confirm their worse fears about CCP plans for Eve. And for that reason alone PTW is unlikely to be on Dust's roadmap. Ever. |

in a way there is a respec for aurum.. its called aurum gear.
most advanced level aurum gear has no sp requirements with a few that just need the first level in the first skill for it.
so there is your answer. no need for a skill respec as they dont require skills. you can now try out any role you want with only a small aurum investment and without the entire community respecing every 5 mins |
