Hopefully by now you have read the latest post regarding the apparent 'defect' that 'plagues' armor reps on vehicles.
If they 'fix' this by literally nerfing armor reps to the ground by making them rep a third of what they do now, armor vehicles will be complete jokes. Armor vehicles stand up well against STD AV because of their repping power. Shield vehicles stand up to STD AV because of their natural resists to common AV.
But remove their repping power, and armor vehicles will melt even faster than shield. I fear that CCP's vision of 'balance' will nerf shield vehicles as well so that they melt just as quickly under AV.
Here is my request: don't nerf armor reps. Rather, buff shield boosters. Perhaps 5000 hp in 5 seconds for heavy clarity ward boosters to reflect the one of the two true tanking styles for shields: burst tanking (passive tanking is not viable currently, but that is its own thread). Also add 10 seconds to cooldown to compensate for a reduction of 10 seconds to active time, as currently shield boosters are active for 15 seconds.
What are all of your opinions on this recent statement from CCP regarding the topic of vehicles? |

Like I said in your other thread I do like your suggestion. And the suggestion that the shield should have a godly burst tank keeps with the way that I have been lead to believe how shield HAV's are supposed to be on the field. I have to check in game, but I do not recall the current cool down period for shield boosters. Could you enlighten me on what it would be.
I feel this could go a long ways towards fixing what is wrong with shield vs armor for HAV's and I really hope that CCP does not 'fix' armor reppers to work the way that they are apparently supposed to work.

Agreed, currently armor tanked stuff only barely survives because of its ripping power.
An proto fixed armor LLAV dies with TWO Lai Dai packed AVs and three adv AVs.
While an shield tanked LLAVs can withstand barrage of av INCLUDING forge guns.

So +1. 30 seconds cooldown if I recall correctly. So 40 seconds would be the new cooldown. |

40 seconds would not be too bad for burst tanking. I run my Gunnlogi once in awhile, but to be competitive I have to run armor. Can't really complain, Madrugars are my first love for HAV's anyways. But I do like my Gunnlogi so please fix it and don't destroy my Madrugars also. |
