PC is supposed to be the true competitive circuit of Dust right? Well most competitive scenes have some sort of conditions set so it's fair and fun for everyone. All card games have banned/restricted lists, Pokemon has the Uber tier of pokemon, and so and so forth.
Why don't the big corps take the initiative of agreeing on some sort of Rules of Engagement list? Setting conditions on OP weapons/fits.
Obviously, we're not CCP so there isn't much to be done if someone violates the list. However, if it happens then you can enact some Dust-style justice by completely stomping the violators into the ground either in the rematch or by flipping the district entirely. Violating the list would just paint a big target on your back.
As Lance from SyN had said, resorting to OP tactics in other games will always be met with shaming by the general community. It would perhaps be for the best that the bigger players take on this kind of mentality.
Just a suggestion. |

im all for it, but new eden has a long history of being in habited by dirtbags and scum from across the galaxy, so as much as I would love for something like this to happen, I just don't see it being realistic.
hopefully fight club matches would go down like this but I really don't see much more than that |

A wins a win in my book. War's have never ben won by chivalry and honor. 0uter.Heaven doesn't resort to these tactics however we find no fault in our enemies using whatever means necessary to try to secure a win. Cause at the end of the day everything CCP has done with this game is available to all players so if you see your enemy doing something that is highly effective any player on your team can do the same thing. |

Our Fight club matches are going smoothly, with GGs all around. No smack talking to blaming. Rules of engagement has been followed as agreed upon.. |

Real life war does have rules of engagement though. Don't need honor and chivalry to follow international law.
There are two primary international rules of engagement manuals that are internationally available.
While this is a game, saying winning by any means promotes cheating and exploiting. No competitive game can be taken seriously without some rules. DUST has almost no connection to EVE, so New Eden or not, people should have some sort of set rules.
But hey, scrubs gonna be scrubs, so you generally won't find people agreeing to anything outside of Fight Club. CCP needs to balance their game. Simple. |

While I agree that this isn't exactly a sewing circle, the war between EoN and LOI showed that at least the attempt could be made.
If you have to resort to a crutch, then you shouldn't be in PC to begin with. Even worse if you still lose while relying on that crutch.
It isn't even that everyone has to agree on these rules. As long as the majority involved with PC push out the minority that want to rely on crutches, it would succeed. |

There are no rules, unless you agree to them with the corp you're fighting with beforehand.
Hellstorm agreed not to use flaylocks and contact nades vs SyNergy and TeamPlayers..the matches ended up being a lot more fun and it felt more competitive and skill-based....except a few people who sit back in proto hives and spam proto nades. But they're just bad, don't mind them. |

that was an obvious one lol. ^
For Dust to be a competitive game for everyone we need the old CB system. Thats when we can make rules and have tournaments and ladders to compete for, and not have it eat our pockets until we can't play.
This is on CCPs head.
