While I hate all the PS2 spam, this isn't about PS2 being a better game. What this is, is about how you're supposed to not only listen, but to react to the community aswell. https://twitter.com/j_smedley/status/357656064591798274 There. A whole feature got thrown back into the drawing board because the community said so. If it was CCP they would try to shove it in and then wait another month before trying to make a fix that doesn't fix the core issue, and then after another month fix it.
Also, they told the community what they're doing before it's the zone of no return and they have to release it as part of the update, AND they have a test server to test this stuff. |

Every change that went horribly wrong because CCP either didn't tell us or didn't listen to us when we told them it sucks. And it happens FAR too frequently. If it happend just once I wouldn't make this thread. |

They appear thier and not here is my point. They do not communicate with the forums. IE: Facebook yesterday they made a thread asking folks if they like the mordu challenge or what ever it's called.
They didn't post that question here so FB and IRC is where it's at not the forums. |

CCP,
Just go to twitter and remove a feature "cause the community said so" should be an antidote for some.
Other than that how about actually dropping us some hints on the shenanigans that you are actually up too? I hear there are important things and dev blogs out and on the way (if not already).
My 2 isk (well inflation and all 5 isk) recce would be....
Why not introduce changes into a public proving ground? A try before you buy. This will do some great things, give you input on said things and get the proto stomp crowd something to do than stomp news.

What is THIS then???? I mean..... the only thing that's different to what you say these guys do and what CCP does is that they don't have a test server for this, AND they sort of have this PSN contract thing to fulfill...... If you look at EVE online they have a test server for that! So I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually release a second "test" version of this game but until then ill keep considering us pseudo beta testers. Lol i'd like to see you tell SONY "yeah that update we were going to put out, the one we had your boyz reading for the last two weeks, were going to pull it back because some people are crying about a feature on it in the forums"
Honestly..... I think they should just put everything up to Polls, however I actually cant trust the community to make smart decisions on the polls because the last poll we did was for the SP cap set-up and the second place choice was FAR better then the current one. Lol, the fact that I can make 3000 WP in a match and not get rewarded for it is infinitely stupid, and ultimately a disincentive to play the game after I hit my Cap. But all that aside...... yeah! |

Hahahaha That's exactly one of the reasons I opened this thread. It doesn't fix the core issues with LAV's, THEY HAVE TOO MUCH eHP! An LLAV is ******* invincible. And LLAV's don't have a free version and yet they are the biggest part of the issue. So this did nothing.
They also gave us a "maybe in 1.4" hint. |

That one instance was actually a good move but, uh, that's SOE. Smedley no less.
They've done this right but a competent developer they are not. Well, actually, the development team might be competent more or less... it's just that those at the top seem to be a poisonous influence on PS2's progress, enforcing a vision that doesn't mesh with what PS2 could and should be.
Minor example chosen because it's simple and not so arguable: Higby's fixation on getting the e-sports scene into PS2. He's a nice guy actually, and a good PR face, it's just I have little confidence that he really knows what he's doing. |

Yeah well "grass is always greener". I am sure if you polled a fair amount of PS2 players their feedback would be significantly negative regarding the current state of their game as well. Ranters are gonna rant.
What gets me is that players fail to acknowledge the reality that development issues take time to fix, that some issues have been resolved and have actually improved gameplay, that CCP's interaction with the community has improved since 'Uprising' launched and that from day one they have shouted from the rooftops that the game would evolve slowly over time...years in fact.
Bottom line is people are impatient, want everything yesterday and think that THEIR particular issue with the game is the MOST IMPORTANT thing. Of course this all made more humorous by the fact that this game costs absolutely nothing to play. Even if you did pay money so far and did so without accepting and acknowledging all of the above...then shame on you.
If this had been a standard game sold at retail and got the reviews from the pundits that this game did, that developer would have been dismantled by the whatever big publisher was backing them and the servers would already be shut down....and you would have gotten ZERO RETURN ON YOUR INVESTMENT. Instead CCP has doubled down on delivering their Dust 514 vision despite sub-par reviews and the slew of rant laden feedback that seems to dominate these forums. |

Forget CPM the community didn't vote for them speak with us the gamers on the forums not on silly ass FB. I digress CCP is killing Dust off with the silly decisions.
At this point doesn't even matter anymore the player numbers dropping speaks for it self. |

OP has no clue what he is talking about. Read an article about incarna and think again. Bringing a feature "back to the drawing board" doesn't say the community will be happy with the second iteration. |
