Maybe it's having a slower connection speed or something. But the last time I did this, I was on a flat road - I think I might have turned a wee bit to the left (the side you usually get out on). Just a bit, not a turn, definately not a hard turn.
Get out and died - and it lists me as having suicided.
It's happened on rougher ground before so I assumed maybe the car rolled on me a bit.
I'm okay with taking some damage from jumping from a moving vehicle, but this is more damage than if I jump off a two story object.
Also it's weird to have run yourself over. |

It's a consequence of a couple of things.
When you jump out of the vehicle it continues to move according to the vehicle physics. The vehicle physics are in a good place at the moment so this seems fine.
When you exit an LAV you magically teleport to the space next to the car where the driver sits.
If the vehicle just so happens to be moving in that direction at sufficient speed then you get run over.
This all seems to be fine to me. You just need to be a bit more careful when exiting LAVs.
What I would like to see however is an exit animation rather than teleporting. This would probably mean that people never run themselves over as an additional bonus. |

I'm not sure why it seems fine simply because it follows a causal chain?
As with many games the developers remain in deep silence - I'd suspect they intend this run overyourself effect as much as they intend flux grenades to kill clones or intend turrets to try and shoot themselves. But with deep silence, who knows? Perhaps they are gunning for the Esher-esque FPS? |

No. Next to the car where the driver sits would be fine. You get teleported in front of the car. This is why when somebody parks a friendly LAV on the stairs face-up you can just get in the LAV, get out and suddenly you're in front of the car.
And yeah, it seems to be yet another CCP trololo "by design". |

It's weird because often enough I can get out while moving and am actually launched in the direction the car had been heading, for quite some distance (which is quite handy). I suspect one is teleported to the side as well as near the front, but the cars hitbox, as it turns, overlaps that position a moment latter, killing you.
I'm kind of wondering if they really know how to use the unreal engine all that much? |

Don't think it is a bug. Happened to me when a LAV bounced backwards off a wall as I jumped.
Anything that kills a Murder Taxi Driver is a game play optimization. |

You judge whether something is a bug by whether you like it or not. That would rather take the world to revolve around your personal likes. Not sure it does. |
