My stance is sort of similar to yours. In my opinion CCP should of never released anything until they have the other 3 racial variants finished as well. For dropsuits, for vehicles, and to an extent for weapons. The problem is you finish some and want to release them, but then you racial variants sort of get put on the back burner because you say to yourself, "Well, we already have something for them to use" and it takes forever for them to get around to it. "We already have a heavy, so let's focus on fixing the balance and stuff and perhaps in a year we can work on the finishing touches for the other 3 heavies." or "We already have the Caldari and Gallente version of LAVs, HAVs, and dropships. That should be fine until after we do the bajillion other things we have to do." It's ludicrous for a game with emphasis on four different factions to do something like this. Release them all or don't release them at all, even if that means holding some back for awhile because that will make finishing the rest a higher priority.
