All right, so I bought a few of these to try them out along with a Viziam Scrambler Pistol, and as it turns out, they're exactly the same. I mean quite literally, they are the same. The only difference that IS -supposed- to be there is a color differentiation. In the description for the Khanid, it states "A Ruby-gold proto variant seldom seen outside the Kingdom's borders.
Now, that wouldn't bug me much, but when using the viewer, both the Khanid, Viziam and Carthum pistols look the same. Now here's the kicker, why are they all black yet the "Singetear" Viziam has a gold tint to it? It's bad enough that the Khanid is 50 AUR when it's the exact same as the Viziam and "Singetear" AUR version.
Stats:
Viziam Scrambler Pistol -
88.0 HP 500.0 RPM 53.4 Accuracy 6 Clip size (11 with OP 5) 42 Max Ammo 2.5s Reload Time 9 Meta Level 48 CPU 8 PG 12,975 ISK
'Singetear' Viziam Scrambler Pistol -
88.0 HP 500.0 RPM 53.4 Accuracy 6 Clip size (11 with OP 5) 42 Max Ammo 2.5s Reload Time 9 Meta Level 48 CPU 8 PG 25 AUR
'Burnscar' Khanid Scrambler Pistol -
88.0 HP 500.0 RPM 53.4 Accuracy 6 Clip size (11 with OP 5) 42 Max Ammo 2.5s Reload Time 13 Meta Level 48 CPU 8 PG 50 AUR
If you see, they all have the same stats aside from cost AND Meta level.
1) Why is there only an AUR version of the Khanid? 2) Why is it a 13 Meta Level but has the same stats as the standard proto SP? 3) Why is it 50 AUR anyways? Because of a higher Meta? 4) Why is it black, contrary to the description?
This pistol would be so much more if it was fixed as this is the only pistol I'm having qualms with. It should have much better stats for being a 13 Meta Level. |

Well the Khanid don't really use Lasers if their ship designs is anything to go off of. The prefer missiles and rockets like the Caldari.
It may make sense that they don't actively produce laser tech. |

Even so, this is a Scrambler Pistol with the highest meta pistol if not meta level weapon in the game. It should have mich better stats along with the cosmetic look on it should be as it describes. People should bot be paying so much AUR for a single pistol that one can use ISK on seeing as how they have the same stats. |

This is a market oddity, CCP noted that there are some and we should point them out to them as we find them. Good find by you. It is quite odd that the 'Singetear' Viziam Scrambler Pistol is identical to the 'Burnscar' Khanid Scrambler Pistol, yet the 'Singetear' is half the price and unlocked one level earlier. Makes no sense.
As far as the color scheme goes, all the prototype weapons used to have some unique coloring to them and they have since covered it all up by the boring "prototype, that means black and red" theme.
I'm not really sure what the point of meta-level is, doesn't really effect anything. It's odd that they are different (and one is even 13?!?!?) but it doesn't really do anything. |

CCP nerfed the awesome paint schemes with uprising. Once upon a time it was gold and ruby red, and it was glorious.
As for why there's three variations of a statistically identical weapon at different prices, I'd imagine the Khanid was sort of ignored and forgotten, hence the loss of it's described paint. I'd also guess that it was to be removed from the market when the new Singetear was introduced.
You could ask CCP in feedback section but their fix would most likely be to simply remove the Khanid rather then explain whether or not it is intended to be functionally and statistically the same as the Viziam or is/was intended as a special model.

But that's just it, the Khanid would look so gorgeous with it's original color scheme. If/when they do fix it, they should keep the weapon within te market but adjust the stats accordingly, seeing as how if they do remove it, I'd better get a refund for 97 of them, lol. I do remember back in Chromosome when it had Ruby-gold. I'm sad it does not anymore but I WOULD like to see an ISK variant for it, obviously with much better stats and a much higher price. |

Gonna double post here because iPhone.
Nanite injector's ADV and Proto AUR versions are the same as well, but that'd be for a different thread as this is for Scrambler Pistols in general (More the Khanid though.)
Although, I've not seen anyone outside of me use it in a match, and when I did, I mucked people up. |

We're talking actual things though, not just lore-related.
.. But just so you know, Caldari were probably being nice to the trash-makers. Heheh. |
