This guys are few and far between. and they need more recognition.
Jumped in an ambush the other day and found myself running low on rounds, well I was out. This dropship that had been hanging around the command center decides to come in for a low pass near the entrance I was trying to breach, and failing.
having little else to do, or shoot, I bunny hop into the guys dropship and expect us to be off into the wild blue in a heart beet but he had other plans. The dude plants himself right in front of the entrance meters from a supply depo.
finding myself facing half the enemy team with little more than a small blaster turret, a vehicle I usually two shot in rail tanks, and every enemy in front of me fingertips away from AV fits you can figure how I thought this was going to go. so might as well get a few damage markers on some enemies with the blaster turret.
Not only do I end up killing half the force facing us before any of them gets into and AV fit, as soon as we start taking damage this Dropship pilot dose some of the best Low altitude flying I've seen and gets us out of there, through the tight spaces of the command center itself, and right into another battle on the other side of the command center.
The pilot then goes on the show me how you keep a dropship out of sight and out of mind of the enemy while keeping the dropship gunner in range. But not all good things last forever and finally one of the enemies forge guns us out of the sky. we both survive the crash, and the match ends.
Now I did well as his gunner, 12 kill streak, but he was the true hero of the peace keeping us in the air as long as he did. I would have loved to just rode with him if head been in an assault dropship just to see what he could do.
Moral of the story if you find a good dropship pilot value them as they are a real asset to your team, or corp. and they have far more rolls to play for you than a HAV or LAV pilot. So next time you see a good Dropship pilot show him some love. |

Thanks for the love posts, and the real hero of the day is the gunner (mercs like you) that actually shoot the right target, or brave the deathtrap as well. My Eryx can survive as much as a tank, but I am useless withount epic people

So you two-shot dropships? I can go somewhere and you can't hit me (above your tank). Not only am I faster, but your turrets can't hit me, and mine can hit you. We may not kill you, but we can really tick you off, to the point that you recall your tank. I've done it before. |

If that was an OMS, coulda been me, flying is great once you get the hang of it, and a few vehicle maneuvering sp levels lol. |

It wasn't an ADS but i'm not sure if it was a Logi or regular dropship. I was to concerned with shooting stuff to pay attention to the name of the ship in the kill feed. |

A tactic I am well aware of. I was simply emphasizing the fragility of the dropship not commenting on its speed and yes in an ADS you can kill me if your gunners and you concentrate fire when I'm driving a Sica. hasn't happened to me in a Gunlogi yet but i'm sure you could do it if you tried. |

Hey, I was just saying. Besides, my tank (a Sica, btw) can one or two shot any dropship. I've went head to head with Madrugars and won. Not often, but I can. |

Back in the day me and my gunners would eat tanks up with proto small blasters. It was very fun until half the enemy team pulls AV. |

Im getting what practice in I can now so that I may join the ranks of elite pilots as the one mentioned.. Would be nice if there was some ccp created area for me to practice flying this aerial rubber ducky, but oh well,lol |

Join "Condor Squad" chat channel, all dropship pilots are here
go the the oceanic server, its normally empty, you can learnt 2 fly there |
