If a mass driver killed your shield tank while at full health I'm thinking either something you didn't see was hitting you, or your tank sucks.

Shield tanks are bad but that's pathetic

Yes vehicles are UP but come on... he had to have gone through something like 50 rounds to take out 5000 shield hp.

No genuinely, he kept running around me shooting me with a mass driver, if I got out to shoot him he would have just killed me since my suit sucks, I have 5k hp with 1 passive hardener on...

FYI, you may not know this, but there is something called a BREACH mass driver. It is designed to specifically kill vehicles. It does a "crap ton" of damage and has virtually no splash. It's made for direct hits.

Keep that in mind while I explain the rest.

Secondly, a mass driver is highly effective against armor. The second you lose your shields on your tank, it'll take one clip of any mass driver for you to lose your entire armor and die. Now, this may sound rather... unnerving, but there are things called FLUX grenades. These babies can take out your shields, really effectively. They do something like 1400+ shield damage every grenade. The prototype grenades can do something like 1700+ shield damage...

Add that up. Assuming he was soloing you, which you should realize is EXTREMELY EASY TO DO TO ANY TANKER, he most likely used flux grenades and a breach mass driver. Don't lose hope though, next time you pull out your tank why don't you consider staying with your squad. A Solo tank is a noob tank. Don't run solo.

i use mass drivers and shield tanks so i see exactly how this could have happened, provided you aren't complete garbage.

He probably set down a nanohive, fluxed u 3 times, then drilled through your armor in 4 shots. I've had this done to me and ive done it to others.

Is it me or does it seem a bit absurd that a "LIGHT" weapon can slowly but surely ship away at a "heavy" vehicle (we all know the gunlogi is not the best tank atm but meh, prefer its' look...

I was in a match in my 5khp+ gunlogi when I start getting shot, small amount of shields go so think nothing of it, it doesn't stop and I notice this guy stood there shooting me with a mass driver, I couldn't kill the guy since he ran a lot faster than my turret could turn so I drove away a little to give myself time for shield boosters and shockingly he is there again.... I don't give a flying f about the isk that I lost it's how I lost it. A light weapon should not be able to go 1v1 vs a tank, it's like hey Mr.Leviathan, my name is Ibis, pewpewpew {Wreck[Leviathan]}, no...

It was just unreal, I know flaylocks are going to be "balanced" and I know the mass driver was useless before but there is a thing called "moderation", anyone know if anything has been said about the mass drivers yet? So many corps run around just using mass/flay, kind of no fun to play unless you just red line which is lame...
