If you want Dust to be the EvE equivalent of a FPS game, then shut the **** up already about OP weapons and such.
Everything is supposed to have a counter, or "anti". You will never be able to face EVERYTHING and stand a good chance. Someone will always have the upper hand over whatever suit you are running.

On topic, though, we're all about that in concept, but you can see right now that the Caldari Logistics suit and the Flaylock Pistol are at a point where they don't really have a counter anymore, which is the issue.
None of us (with the exception of idiot tryhards) want to see this turn into a game where you can only do well if you use assault rifles, so you needn't worry that that's what we're all suggesting.
Just a few of us whose opinions don't matter. |

FINALLY SOMEONE I CAN RELATE TO....EvE and dust are what they are...but the freaking call of balance 2 and fairplay field 3 players just wont leave this game alone....there will never be balance on this game....there will always be powerful weapons that dont require your precious skill....which has no place in this game anyway.....this game is about war.....and as we all know there is no balance or fair play in war....just pain death and Dust. |

And that's honestly the other side of it.
I mean, anyone who plays EVE remembers the not-too-long-departed days of Drakefleet and 100MN Afterburner Tengus.
Granted, Heavy Missiles were too good at everything, and being able to put a Battleship afterburner into a cruiser was just ridiculous, but in a world where finding the unfair advantage is paramount to not being run over, it shouldn't be surprising to see players gravitating toward certain assets like they are.
Again, though, that's no excuse for something being imbalanced, which is the case with some of our current assets. I just hope that when CCP inevitably does balance passes on them, they do them like the did the Tactical Assault Rifle, and still leave them perfectly viable, but less universally dominant. |

It all depends if this game really has Counter Measures. Other FPS games.. a counter measure is simply changing your load out.
EVERY FPS IS NOT BALANCED. From the crazy death choppers of Battlefield bad company 2. To the "rich get richer" Kill streaks of cod. From the Snipers of GOD in ARMA. To the Turrets of Kill zone. Anyone remember the Hedgehog grenades of Resistance fall of man? love those things! lol
Trying to make a whole game balanced is one of the things that didn't help MAG. Shoot even socom had the noob tubes. and they were never nerfed. But MAG.... why? why did you start listening to the cryers?
anyway, Like I was saying that most FPS games a counter measure is simply a load out change. But tell me what you do when your WHOLE TEAM has not skilled into AV SWARMS and we are facing not one, but two proto tanks? See there?
Just accept the game's a loss? Yeah... that's one of the things that are staples of FPS games that DUST has yet to grasp. Aiming and core mechanics also among others. (they are working on it, I know)

Well there are times when a whine is justified, its been about 3 months since uprising and that has been more than enough time to adapt or die and so far there are a few things that are just not being adapted around or because the adaption soultion isn't very feasible for the average person.

Seriously though you are cool wirh the flaylock? So it makes sense to only get 2 grenades and spend considerable sp to improve both nade quality and store, but getting weapons that literally spam granades seems like logical progression? When 1 man can jump into an inclose area, make 3 noises and kill 5 guys....thats a problem. When a guy can literally shell you indefinitely while in cover and you still die....thats a problem. Other than that this game is fun as hell. |

Have u ever thought about the fact the AR is most efficient design there is for killing somthing. Thats why everyone freaking uses it. It will allways be the most popular gun in any shooter becauseem it's the best at what it does.
That's why every army in the world uses assult rifles and shotguns or rpgs as standard weapons.
