When I choose to afk it's because I'm low on time but still want to earn some SP that week or my team is getting beaten really badly I no longer feel the desire to keep playing but still want something from it.
Feel free to use an alt if you, just admit you're an alt like I am. |

I'm afking right now.
Why? Over 100k isk and 4k sp. Trying to hit the cap by tonight and my computer monitor and tv are the same person. Guess who has the floor right now while the PS3 idles.  |

not saying i didn't AFK,
i helped 2 perfect it.
it was i who dropped the first drop link and nano hive, it was I who 1rst AFKed on a ladder. |

I AFK my alts to get them up to fighting SP level so that they will be useful to me sooner.
There is a lot of stuff in this game hidden behind mountains of SP. I can't be wasting SP on this account because I am saving for the pilot suits.
I don't enjoy grinding, so when I don't feel like playing I log an alt in and watch TV while accruing SP. |

I still don't like the concept of AFKing, but I will admit to doing it quite a bit lately (not so much MCC AFK, but ambush AFK, which is more rewarding but it doesn't work all the time).
Why am I doing it? Quite simply I am getting tired of team stacking squads destroying the balance of matches, and I am tired of always having to squad up with 5 others in order to have a chance at having fun in the game.
No-squad options ASAP, please CCP!! It's win-win for both the loners and those that like to squad up. |

I do it because I can't pause my game, or because my blueberries are either useless or also afk.
Any other reason should make people feel bad. It saps the fun out of the game. AFKers are effectively reducing the max number of players in a match. |

I only afk when I go in solo and see my team are a bunch of idiots to the point where they don't even try capturing any objectives in skirmish until the enemy is basically right on the objectives closest to us. |

I AFK cuz pubs are boring. I sit in the MCC, and watch tv tbh. There's no incentive to play FW either. So it's PC games or AFK. |

Get creative and AFK in some other way?
I don't think CCP could ever stop it completely, but they could make it harder to do and therefore be less appealing.

I honestly think some sort of solo-queue would be really good, especially if it was populated often, thus reducing the chance someone could exploit it and try to get in with a queue-sync. |

Make SP 100% passive. But the game would need more content to do that. |

With the current version of the cap, I have to force myself to get on and play just to keep up with everyone else, so my week now starts on Wednesday, just after downtime, I log on to DUST, I spawn in the MCC and I start clearing my place up, preparing food for dinner and such whilst occasionally checking to see if the game is done or not.
For me, it's CCP's cap in place, if they'd just sort out the rollover system (how ******* hard is it CCP?) that we were promised months ago, I'd probably not AFK as much, then I could grind leisurely whenever I wanted. You want to go on holiday? Now you don't have to take your PS3 ^_^ |

this is a very useful thread... hopefully CCP will see it and fix the problem.... just so you know I don't hate you afkers...
I actually I appreciate you for the easy kills you make when you finally play... youre rusty, tasty kills with bad gun game and bad map knowledge... you have poor team coordination don't know how to use all that sp you've accrued and tend to be the 1st people to QQ about how over powered everything is.... you make me very happy when you actually play a newberry with proto gear |

I never AFKed untill Uprise. Did that for a few weeks waiting on the game to improve. I have over 19mil unallocated sp, and dont bother to log in anymore. Im pretty much done with this game. If they ever get the game squared up maybe ill come back. There are to many good games in the pipeline to waste my time on this pos. Idk when afk in mcc was first discoverd I put nanos and drop links in there and I've never seen anyone else do it, you can't claim to be the first hell someone probably beat us both to it |

Sp is one thing, but to afk 23 hours a day some how is ALOT of isk,.
In most games online I see people afk to farm currency, Im betting we have a ton of isk farmers on alts..
