Iv played since day one.. closed beta.. 1.5years now... put up with alot of crap and here we are. I have no reason to play anymore. Nothing exciting really to aim towards. PC is fun but the drops are just crap the other players were using. I blow 2mil worth of suits for a 2.5mil payout.. its kinda pointless.
NOT to mention the salvage right now is a joke.. i dont get anything ever anymore.. its broken. Im at 10mil SP and it seems to just not give a crap about me.
We need random non player enemies that pop into the battle field that are very hard to kill that are against both teams. Basically a angry mercenary not loyal to either side... kill them and get some officer stuff. Maybe even just a assist if you put 100hp into them and you also get some modulus. Just knowing the potential gives a player the desire to try.
Maybe a random ship crashes and you can run over and raid the loot. SOMETHING.. anything to make the game more random and exciting.
This would make the game more pleasing and worth the effort playing.. knowing you could get some awesome goods.
I also think the suits, weapons and other SP gained use of items needs help. After just 4 months im where I want to be.. with nothing to really look forward to. I dont want to spec into everything.. no desire at all. Im just assault and enjoy my prototype setup... but now what.. what do I have to look forward to.. why would I want to keep spending time and money playing. If you dont get some more rare items and allow players to potentially pick that fruit from those trees Its just boring.
Iv played EVE and tho its not very often anymore.. scanning down a Angel site and taking out a officer ship and getting a Domination Shield recharger worth 80,000,000 isk was fun, or a Pith type B Shield unit worth 220mil... Give us all a bit of something. and for peats sake open up the market already. |

This is an epic idea!! CCP look at this!
Honestly if i knew this was possibly able to happen in the middle of a hard fought game i might forget about winning and start trying to kill this guy because damn!! i want my officer mods and weapons and suits!
Or even a squad of them and for every one you kill you get a officer drop but again these squads dont always appear but it would make the grind through the day a bit more exciting when you finally see this appear... |

Have a robot once a battle, and the squad that kills it gets the loot, encouraging people to form squads. |

Once a game might be a bit too much you would have murder squads that would steal it every time since also in true CCP fashion it would spawn in the same 2 or 3 points every match...
but if its a random occurance that u come by every couple hours that would be awesome! |

yeah I like this idea. Whoever kills it, you'd still have to fight over the "corpse" to actually loot (ie. hack) it... so it would become like another point on the map... without any significance to the final outcome of the battle. Would add variety to the battles, as it wouldn't happen all the time....

Thanks guys.. Want this game to be amazing and its already kinda fun but anymore there is no reason to play. Iv seen Dust forums turn into "whats the best new game to play". Alot of great players have left.. waiting for this game to get exciting.
Just need to implement some cool random goodness that rewards us. We need more levels of suits and weapons. The gap between advanced to proto is pointless.. upgrading to lvl 4 does nothing... thats just odd.
A game mode called Fortress would be awesome where a team trys to take over a base of some NPC on a planet... could waste 4mil worth of goods just to try and get some officer drops. Id do it

I was also thinking about things CCP could do to keep players wanting to play and a purpose for playing more (besides SP).
I came up with the following: MILESTONES
A milestone is when you reach a certain level with a given item, be it weapon, equipment, vehicle, anything really.
Examples:
5,000 kills with an Assault rifle unlocks a prototype AR
100,000 Armor reps given unlocks a prototype Repair Tool
250,000 nanite clusters given unlocks a prototype nanohive
5,000 kills with a tank unlocks a prototype turret
sprint 10,000 KM unlocks a prototype sprint mod
I think you get the idea where I am going with this but I want to put a few caveats: - You would still need the required skill points to use that proto item. Ex: If you got all your AR kills with a GEK, you would still need to skill up to use the proto AR that you unlocked - These new proto items that you unlock would not have different stats in a way that unbalances the core gameplay and be OP. My suggestion is that they simply have the same stats as the best prototype, just a reduced CPU/PG allowing you more options in creating your fit
Also, I would give it it's own naming category, like Ishucone or Wykromi, a class of weapons/equipment that people know is of a certain caliber. I of course would vote for a Stryk Variant: Stryk AR, Stryk Repair Tool, Stryk Nanohive etc.
What do you all think? Suggestions?
Personally, I would love more types of milestones and achievements in addition to SP gain.

To be honest I would like anything that gives us a chance at officer gear and weapons and mods cause as it stands now they have nerfed the amount of officer weapons given out in salvage by quite a bit... ive gotten maybe a total of 30 officer weapons (aka 10 officer weapon salvages) in the last 14k kills... How is that by any means able to keep anyone a float with a decent supply of officer weapons... not only that but we cant trade them so if i dont get the weapons i use then its kinda useless to me atm... |

To add on to this idea, maybe instead of unlocking a weapon, you were rewarded with an additional passive skill for that specific item, EX: 2%PG and 5%CPU reduction of that item. You don't unlock anything but each specific item gets a passivly reduced PG & CPU.
Rather than having 5,000 kills apply to the AR in general, it can apply to each AR and when you use that specific AR, it passively reduces the CPU/PG of that weapon when you reach each weapons milestone.

To my understanding, the amount of items you have in your assets plays a part in what you get for loot.
Use up some of the crap you have in your assets and you'll have a way better chance of getting officer weapons. |

Well i have messed with other things.. before.. must have missed that I said Iv played for well over a year.. I mean for the last 6 re specs iv tried everything really.. just enjoy assault the most... but thats not the point so thanks for your very constructive and so very important comment.
Since NPC or AI is not doable right now maybe just like randomly pick people to get a chance to run some boss CCP fitting with amazing tank and dps.. and they get to be the random tossed into battles.. where your death = officer drops to those that tore you down. Maybe you get two chances to run that fit into a battle then it moves onto other players.. could always have 8 active officer roles active to feed the Dust community.

This is interesting.. and makes sense since a alt seems to get goodness often.. But I dont think I can get rid of things I cant even use. I cant trash items, you can only loose them in battle. So until market or trash is active you would have to spec into the stuff you cant use yet. I have some items i stock up on.. doubt having 500 of a given item will reduce chances.. its just the fact your have 100 different items in your assets.

Good things but I can see it as a bad too. The NPC will spawn near a team, if they are hard to kill, then one side of the team will lose clones faster than the other. One team will be at a disadvantage, if they were not already by the other team. |

Bumping because this is an awesome idea. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the rogue drones on field like the E3 ones that are fighting against both sides in say an ambush or open world run around and hunt for enemies. |

yup. That's why games like Battlefield, Mag and other tons of shooters don't work on ps3 ... that's why FFXIV, DCUO, that has tons of mobs spawning in front of tons of people hasn't been ported for ps3....please.....The problem is not the ps3 itself. It is how hard is making games for ps3, for instance. Ps3 has a unique architecture, so you gotta get used to it. Then, the other problem is the engine (let's be honest, it's not just outdated). Another thing, afaik this is the first FPS for CCP. I must say, dust is not garbage, but it's not a good fps either.
Why don't we go back in closed beta and then we just test a future ps4 version of dust? We can start balancing things out here on ps3, ccp has the ideas. There's no point in keeping dust here on ps3, when the only who will play it will be Eve players. |

So minus a few random trolls we are getting a good response here...
For those of you who are saying AI cant work, it can... It might take some time for them to figure it out but hell if we dont throw ideas out there, they might never be seriously thought about for our game...
Also the leveling up of guns is a great idea... only problem i have is that you would have to reset the game again if you are going to implement this because i highly doubt they have been keeping track of what i have gotten 23k kills with and god forbid how many different things someone like 13ear or chicago have gotten kills with...
For whoever stated that the less you have in assets the more loot u get, I will test this... as of today i will start running my suits down to only have 10 of each and try to restock them only as needed to hopefully drop my total assets down... ill give this a few weeks of testing afterward and from there ill throw up a post... So keep ur eyes out for a thread in like 3 - 4 weeks

Honestly people this is something we used to do in closed beta all the time... you would be surprised how much CCP listens even though you dont think they are... So start the engines in your head and be realistic because who knows maybe ur idea will make it into dust 514... |

dude everyone here since closed beta knows how you feel, nothing has really changed. All we do now is jump into random battles, no point in FW cuz it's the same dam thing. PC battles bring you lag and takes your isk. |

Well if NPC doesnt work right away at least get some boss fit player randomly coming into the battle for fun.. try it as a game mode. Its like when CCP had those quafe agents in pink scout suits.. but I think they were on one of the teams.. you had to protect or kill the ccp player (which wasnt hard) Maybe randomly pick players between a 3:1 and 5:1 kdr and let us rock two of these fits. Then pass the torch to other players.. idk maybe it wont work but at least get some random ish going on in these matches so we can get officer drops of some sort. I wish there was a open map where you can just hang out in there for a hour and kill stuff and get some good stuff... basically like EVE.. its fun to just solo and see what you can find.. but so far dust is just a player vs player 5-20min thing.
Im not sure this thread will net any results but I was just tossing out my whining with some good ideas and valid feelings which id hope others agree with.. hope ccp takes it as a free consultant evaluation with alot of hours invested. We have all been doing this for sometime... so I hope they know what they are doing.

I think the idea of a random ship crashing sometimes would be cool. say it takes 3 guys to hack it and it takes like a whole min. The other team is trying to kill whoever came to the wreak first.. but you would have to protect your guys that are trying to hack it.. the team to hack it gets the 2mil each payout or some cool modules. The point here is the UNKNOWN is exciting and worth the playing. Implementing something a bit more random and unknown would make this so much more fun. |
