Why doesn't CCP just add on a "viewed by" mini tag on thread names? For example each thread could have three dark circles on the upper right hand side of the link to that thread. If a CCP dev clicks on that thread to read or do whatever, that bubble will forever be lit up blue to prove that at some point a Dev DID go inside and read the thread. If a GM goes to read the thread, one bubble will turn red, forever symbolizing the fact that a GM went to read that thread. If a bubble turns white then..... guess what! A member of the CPM looked at the thread! If all three are lit up, then all three types of readers read the thread at some point!
This would at-least make people think that "hey the devs do look at what were saying"
Lol, you could even have it so that a number pops up above each bubble per time a person from one of the three above mentioned parties clicked on that particular thread.
Ultimately this would show us, the "testers" whats getting the most attention, and help clear up misconceptions that CCP "isn't listening" or whatever people like to think these days. A dumb and pointless idea? Maybe.... but I like typing on these forums anyway!
And just in case this wasn't clear.... the normal tags would still pop up if a dev decided to "respond" to a post. So yeah, theres that too! ha! forget you science! |

What do you think CCP FoxFour does in his spare time? He doesn't seem like the type to go outside.
Even when he does, he just trips over footballs. |

Seems petty and random and like all it would accomplish is making troll threads more popular, since a dev can't really know how a thread is going to turn out until actually taking a look at it.

Would be cool, but then you would just have devs logging off so they could secretly read threads without others knowing about it (plausible deniability ).
What? I so did not read your thread about vehicles! |

This is more of a "what do you guys think" post, and if a ton of people like it I might put it in the feedback/request section of the forums...... BUTTTTTT at the same time.... im not really sure if the feedback/suggestion forum is meant for threads that talk about improving the forums. Ive had other forum related ideas in the past, but I mean..... were testing the game, not the forums right? |

Lololol, fair enough, if that were the case then I guess my idea would be pointless...... hopefully CCP isn't as underhanded as to add a feature like that, and then make it look like there not reading anything! |

Ill take that as credible proof, lol they have a report for something like that? CCP doesn't joke around when it comes to stat tracking huh? |

I was ok with your post until the -1 part..... it makes me feel kind of sad. Sure this thread might be "useless and petty" but whats better? Me posting something fresh and new? Or me crying about the same flaws in the game everyone else cries about? either way I gotta put something on the forums...... |

Well the report I get to see every week hits the nail just about, then throws graphs in it, gives threads ratings, posts ratings, charts, clouds, subjects, replies and all sorts of things.
It does highly reflect however that ****posting and poor posting habits is very harmful on 'flow through' to the developers. |

Ah I understand, but i mean that poses a few other questions. Which threads do the devs take more seriously, and for what reason to they look at each post? For example..... do they put more stress on the feedback/suggestion section on the forums in comparison to general discussion section? I mean..... it must be tough sorting through all this stuff and finding the 1 or 2 good posts that actually have a "good" debate going on. IN light of this ill be sure to post less crap threads like this one in the future, (I mean.... i did put it in general discussion because i didn't consider it relevant to feedback/suggestions, but perhaps it wasn't relevant in any way at all). |

In theory, it would be pointless to have a "viewed by" mini tag because every thread would have it. In theory of course. |

Hey man, Mr CPM above me said that they do so that's good enough for me. I honestly never doubted that they look at "most" of the threads, but "in theory" (according to Mr Wolf) they look at pretty much EVERY thread. Which is crazy because of the amount of BS posts that come through here. The only reason i would want a feature like this is so that people understand the devs do look at these posts, OR, at the very least they know WHICH posts the devs look at. Either way its meh.... |

No other game forum has "viewed by dev" tag. Not even stupid World of Warcraft. CCP reads everything and they've proven it multiple times.
No other game forum gives you weekly updates saying "look dudes, we are reading your whining".
No other game forum has so many freakin' dev blogs and feedback addressing like DUST.
No other game forum listens more to the player feedback and addresses issues as soon as possible.
And yet, some people come here "hurr durr ccp communicate plx more wtf where iz bug fixez releaze thingz fasturr"... :D

I agree with you on every account except the "they prove it" part. They don't prove anything, they just say they "read a lot" This is just a way for people to see how much they actually DO read..... but its ultimately pointless, cuz people will still cry anyway. |

Hey man, you asked and we have answered.
You are asking for a tag that is pointless because it will be on every thread. What is the point of having the art and code produced for a feature that is redundant? Because people don't feel like their getting enough attention and have trust issues? |
