Dear Diary,
After starting my new life as an Amarr Heavy, I can honestly say that the life we live isn't as bad as others have claimed for it be. In fact I am quite enjoying it, definitely more enjoyable than my time served as an Amarr Logi/Assault! As a Basic frame Proto Heavy I have 506 shields and 620 Armor, that's 1126 HP, Amazing! The HMG doesn't feel as strong as it should be, for a weapon that is supposed to utterly dominate in it's effective range it leaves a bit more to be desired. However as is, it can still get the job done. In close quarters combat all my enemies jump up and down, strafe left and right, and tremble in fear while they try to dodge the spray of death that I unleash from my boundless heavy machine gun stacked with 2 complex damage mods. I laugh at the sound of their cries and the sight of their lifeless bodies. I fear I may start writing 5-1-4 on the walls of my Merc Quarters soon, haha.
However as exciting as being a Heavy might be, I've found that they are a lot of things that make life hard out thereon the battlefield. My greatest enemies are the Assault users, no, Assault users disguised as Logi's! How dare they pose and parade as my beloved logi brothers and sisters! They also seem to have more total HP than some of us Heavy's, most specifically, I've seen and have died to Caldari Logi's who've had upwards to about 1200 Total HP. Makes me feel like eating the pain away.
Explosives, oh boy. Grenades, Mass Drivers, and Flaylock pistols are our kryptonite, 5-6 shots from a mass driver and It's over for me, 3-4 shots from a flaylock and I'm waiting on my next respawn. Dying to flaylocks faster than a mass Driver seems kind of backwards to me but It's no secret us heavy's are susceptible to explosives.
Snipers are more like mosquitoes now instead of bees when compared to my life as a Medium frame. Just nuisances that are trying to take advantage of my slow speed, horrible scanning and high profile signature. I can take 2-3 shots before I start looking for cover from those bastards. Charges and Thales users are still deadly though. Gotta watch out for them!
Shotgun scouts are very scary! however they take a huge risk trying to engage me head on, I admire these brave and fearless souls! As quick and agile as they may be, they still die just like any other clone standing within 10 feet of my HMG, except even faster. Then again 1-2 quick shots on me and he'll live to fight another day. If he comes at me from behind it is most certainly death for since It will take my a full day and a half to turn to his general direction. I feel the Shotgun scout is not my greatest theat but more of an even match. We both suffer from our massive drawbacks but when faced against each other it is truly a fight of equals.
Because I am so fat and slow now I have to call in LAV's for transportation to the fight. Because of the murder taxi epidemic I am often mistaken for an unsafe driver and blown up on sight. *Sigh* Guess I'll be walking from now on, I need to lose a few pounds any way. As a heavy I'm realy scared of crossing the road though...
Well Diary, overall it's been a good first week as a Heavy. We'll give it more time to see how it goes. I gotta go now, bacon's ready! |

lolpubs
Play PC against a decent team, then come back and say "I can honestly say that the life we live isn't as bad as others have claimed for it be".
Judging a class, and balancing a class based on pub games is the stupidest thing people do around here.

That's not what this thread was about so please take your bitter vet status somewhere else. Thanks.
Also since half of the PC corps out there are pubstomping it up in full squads and proto, don't tell me Pubs don't mean anything. A core flaylock is going to be effective in Pubs and PC, an Assault Rifle is going to be effective in Pubs and PC. Stop being a douche for no reason. |

Sentinels live for PC imo. They are absolute beasts at point defense and are perfect for holding down a point with some back up. |

Heavy suit is excellent, even in PC. What isn't is the HMG. Take an AR, see what happens. I see no need to buff the heavy itself, really 1000 base eHP is more than enough (That's more than double than what assaults start with). Losing less than 2m/s in comparison to that isn't a big deal at all. The only pain I have with the heavy is the lack of equipment, which makes me rely on team mates for ammo, but hey it's a PC match so no problem there.
I found that heavies have the most problem with LAV's and the dreaded flaylock, those are the biggest issues and they happen to more than the heavy.
Heavies should start taking cover. I seriously find it odd how I start shooting at them, go for the reload and I pop back up and.... they're still standing out of cover heavily wounded. I have a feeling that heavies feel like they're supposed to be invincible. |

lol... i hardly come across these pubstomping corps. 90% of the time i see noobs on the other team running weak suits.
I remember the good ol days where people complained about heavies being OP... why? Cuz they had crappy suits and crappy gear.
The minutes a proto heavy runs into a proto Assault player, you see how weak it is.

who's talking about buffing the suit?
Heavies don't go for cover cuz what's the point? They'll get naded, flaylocked anyway.
Even if there's a logi repping him, 1 core locus nade kills even where he has 750+ armor on... I know cuz this happened to me. May as well just stand there and buy time for your teammates. Which i find myself doing more and more. |

I don't know about you, but 1 on 1 even with a Caldari Logi in CQC is GG, try again for the assault player. I've never been solo'd by a proto AR user in CQC, ever.
I'm still week 1 though, this is just my experiences so far. |

I agree the Heavy is fine, the HMG is just needs a damage increase or allow the damage to output to increase over sustained fir or heat build up. This would make the weapon a lot more efficient in it's niche imo.

But people throwing 2-3 contact grenades, then finishing you off with 3-4 bullets happens often enough |

I am a horrible dropship pilot and can't land myself on any tall buildings to snipe from. And Even when I get someone to give me a ride I don't have nanohives so I have to jump down anyway |
