I've used the theory sometimes that whatever class of weapon you get killed most by, you get the salvage for at a certain rate, but its probably the most used weapon class on the field? If I get killed my mass drivers, I get EXO-5's, if I get HMG'd, I get Gatsun's. Sadly, I've yet to add more Balac's/Krin's to my pitiful collection, and I've yet to find a single Thale. The drop rates would be interesting to read. |

Pretty sure they have a troll locked up at the Iceland office and every time there is a battle they shock him with a cattle prod to make him roll a D20 to determine what salvage, if any, that we get |

I don't care what anyone says. I've been here over a year and this is how it works.
If you want a chance at salvage your best bet is to do one of three things.
1) Finish the game going perfect (ie no deaths, with a couple kills at least)
2) Play bad but finish in the middle or just below middle on the leaderboard
3) Get lucky
Your worst odds at getting salvage is placing top 3 on leaderboards.
Again don't care what anyone says or they heard from their friend this is my experience with the salvage system.
P.S. Giving me 1 of anything other than a vehicle is a slap in the face (I don't care if its free, seems disrespectful to me like I should be happy to receive one. Like OMG 1 scrambler pistol who should I tell first!!!). |

They released a list a while ago with the chance of getting each item... I'll look for it.
Basically, I think you have like a 10x better chance of getting an advanced item than a proto item, and a 10x better chance of proto then officer.
After that, things come in pre-designated stacks. So its not like you'll get 5 of something once then 15 the next time.

I dropped into a match to see my MCC explode just as my feet hit dirt and I got 3 Thales as salvage. I dropped into the next match (80% over), ran around for 5 minutes got one kill and was awarded another 3 Thales. What are the odds of that happening? We're talking NASA numbers here.
Had never seen officer gear until then, go figure. |
