dude you r wrong the plasma cannon is suposed to ba a light infantry weapon that has AV and anti infantry capabilities i think thst it is a quite well balanced weapon because it takes a degree of skill to use and it is fairly devastating when you get a hit with it and if you are haveing such a problem with it its probly because you ar a n00b

I have been playing with the plasma cannon since uprising was released.
The weapon can barely scratch a LLAV if it hits (IF it hits this fast going vehicle with its slow projectile). Even the most skilled players could not hit a LLAV going at medium-full speed.

Just technically speaking, it needs two big fixes. First, the collision detection on the plasma projectile is glitched on a number of surfaces (Walls, ceilings, barriers, dropsuits, etc). Second, the dud first shot with the pseudo reload is fairly regularly problematic.
I personally hope it isn't "Scaling as intended.". :/ |

The scaling of splash damage is OK. Not overpowered I think at least.
The scaling of the direct damage however is quite poor. |

I like your direct damage scaling, and agree with you on the numbers when it comes to splash; but something isn't working right in practice. Could be issues similar to those that plagued the MD not long ago. I think these technical issues are really what's holding the weapon back. |

I also think the reticule for the plasma cannon has to be changed if the trajectory is kept as is. It does not make sense to have such a "short" vertical reticule on a mortar-like trajectory.
Something like this would make sense. |
