CCP teams, you are doing wonderfully with this project, and I can only see this game getting better from the great product it already is - keep up the good work. Been playing for a couple of months, finally capped over 5 million SP and I am still enjoying the fun you continually provide.
I have a few reasons as to why this game is one of the best releases of 2013.
1. Dust 514 has an existing connection with Eve, and is being continually worked on to give more and more connection in other ways. I see complaints that there isn't enough connection and needs to be more, which means CCP you are going in the right direction.
2. I like the strategy on the battlefield. There are so many roles, and if played right each game tends to have a different experience. This keeps the game fresh, keep the roles differently. I know you are still working on balance, but as i said before, headed in the right direction.
3. The skill point system is HUGE. This compliments number 2, and provides more of a reason to continue playing. The best thing about this, is that if the SP system is used correctly, each upgrade makes a big difference in-game.
4. Updating system every 30 days! What a great concept. I keep reading "soon haha yea right, we will probably see it in like 4 years." MMO's rarely have light to medium updates every 30 days, so we as the community are lucky to have your support in these updates. Along with these updates, are fixes to problems the community complains about - maybe not all of them, but definitely enough to feel like were being listened to.
5. Developer participation on the forums. Always here, "Dev's how come your not responding!!!! eharrggg." but.. honestly I see a dev post almost daily - this is basically non-existent with other games.
6. The weapons are fun! I currently roll with a mass driver, sniper rifle, and a tank.
7. The faction system is great! I cannot wait for more faction-corp integration.
8. Faction based gear and perks is fun, gives more of a reason to support a certain faction.
This game has a lot going for it now, and a lot promised for it later. All rants I see are the fact that you aren't giving enough, this is a great sign! When the servers go down... people wait checking hourly to see if they are up - also a good sign.
I keep hearing about the idea that Dust has fallen short. However, every MMO I have played always delays content they know the players will want. No jets, pilot suits, PVE etc in 1.2, no problem, just keep striving and delivering every month and eventually these doomsayers will be weeded out due to your continuing numbers and game improvements.
