This is a list of what annoys me about Dust 514, while I still play and enjoy the game, certain things grate on my nerves like no other.
1. No progression bars for events and no information about events easily accessible: What I mean by this is that for Mordu's Challenge, not only did I have to search forums and look for the information through the site, I have absolutely no information about it on the PS3 I can not track my progress I can not see what is being counted, how do I actually know when I have gotten 100 kills, do I get a mail with the items, am I just supposed to wait till the events ends. To me this is a major fault and annoyance, if any event is going on, I want all the information up front, to tell me what is going on and what to do.
2. Incomplete information: Not all the information is available on weapon specs, such as how far is the actual effective range of the gun, how does it modify when really applied to me, how fast do my shields actually rechage, such as time till they kick back on and time for full recharge. I'm sure more then a few people have noticed that the descriptions for the guns are usually the same and at times actually misleading. I want a full load out reading to be able to see how I am doing and what might need to be worked on and how the guns actually work.
3. No practice range: This missing feature is horrible, I know some of you say, "oh just learn it on the battlefield" This idea of learning everything on the battlefield sucks plain and simple. How am I supposed to know the arc curve of gernades, mass drivers and other such things without having tried it out for a while, not only that but I have to spend skill points into weapons that I might not even like when I'm first getting into the game from academy. Also, I want to be able to learn to fly a drop ship without having swarm missiles instantly smacking me around and making me crash in a firey ball of shame.
4. The radar and snipers: Now I know that the snipers are going to claim I am being so unfair and harsh on them, but they should not be allowed to fire from the MCC and from behind the red line (or at least the MCC), this provides to much of a safety zone where they can kill with near impunity except by other snipers or long range weaponry. Also, I feel after a sniper takes 5 shots from a sniper rifle his/her position should be given on the map rather clearly or some number to be determined, because for how much damage they can do from the distance they need to have negatives and reasons why to move. This ties into the problem of the radar, which as many can see does not locate tanks, lavs, and other suits nearly as well as it should. I at least feel that tanks and lavs should be more easily put on the radar map and noticable rather then what we currently have or at least have a better team network for surveilance, that all radars should be used together, instead of just by squad.
5. No story/faction purpose: Alright I will say right now that the game has a nice intro movie and some sparkles that way, but other then that their is no story, no faction contracts, no corporate contracts, no story missions. Now I know this is a game to kill people, however, I want to have some pve elements to get much needed isk and skill points and possibly discounts in the shop for factions/corporations that I have helped rather then having a very static market. It would also be nice to have factions that I have been battling for reward me for what I have done towards them or punish me for what I have done against them. This is something that is very present within the actual EVE game but somehow seems like it just dumped Dust in the dumpster and only acknowledges us when they need something. As the story goes, the corporations are supposed to be fawning over us Dust players and supplying us so that we can be fighting on their behalf for territory and reasources.
These are fives complaints that I have about the game, that should be remedied soon, I thought about adding more but I wanted to see what other people's top 5 complaints would be and what they feel about what I am talking about as well. |

+1, Nicely typed out post, I agree with all of them. On point 5, I think (and this is pretty much what you typed) that it should be some faction missions with a little bit of background thrown into the mix. However, an official 'story mode' would not fit too well into the game.
My biggest complaints just have to do with the little things that make gameplay difficult, such as aiming, hit registry, limited view distances, and mechanics that seem to work different every time you try them.
Wonder how long it will take before the foundation of this game is 'done', and they can move on to other things. When they advertised that they would never be finished working on their game, this is not what I had in mind.
I still love you though CCP, just getting a little anxious waiting.

Partly agree, mainly the need for a greater purpose. I want something to fight for besides myself, getting better, richer and gaining more experience.
I'm one of those that would'nt mind belonging to a NPC corporation and staying loyal to that as long as there was purpose. I'm a pureblooded Gallente and want to stay that way in all possible ways.
As of now the factional belonging means nothing and that saddens me. |

1. but a Event section under the leaderboard showing even progression =) 2. up to ccp to provide all the information and edit the information to be more informative 3. they said it was coming is probably still in the works 4. a yes no argument from the community hopefully CCP fixes the entire red line problem 5. true people need to understand factions and what they are fighting for most people just jump in and say i represent this one **** all others players need rewards for supporting one faction. |

I believe that 1.3 is supposed to have a number of bug fixes and gamplay issues handled about the general handling of weaponry, but I am not entirely sure, they said the supposed release date of the game into full is supposed to be 2-3 months from now, I do not exactly understand what that all means, but I hope this helps you a little and that my infromation is not completely wrong about 1.3. (might just be my wishful praying)
The hit registry is an issue that bothers me as well, such as I am hiding behind a solid tall wall, and I have been hit by bullets from in front of me at an impossible angle, dying of course behind the wall in a very safe location. I am hoping this issue is fixed soon, will probably have me dying a lot less then. |
