It just seems to me that this game is AWFUL.
After four months and 5.5mil skill points, I have given up this game becoming playable, at least on the level of FPS's that came out over five years ago. Here's some of the issues I have:
1) Game play in general. as a sniper this whole vibration thing that happens when you walk on the wrong rock or step, takes you out of crouch, can't aim weapon. Sounds like a three legged horse going mountain - climbing.
2) Perfectly aimed (red cross hair) sniper rounds don't register as a hit, all five rounds in my clip. even with tiny adjustments in aim on a stationary target - nothing. this happens frequently. (Wired-in high speed internet)
3) Maps so boring I wanna puke.
4) Being run over is so freaking cheap IMHO. Needs to be fixed.
5) There's no feel to this game. (partially because of #3) All other quality FPS make you feel like you're in the game. Dust makes me feel like I'm in my living room, looking at my TV, wondering what FPS I should go buy.
6) To be/stay competitive, you will spend more money on this "free" game than any other game you've ever played!
7) Not having a campaign also takes away from the game. Tutorials are boring and uninformative so the only way to learn is trial and error online. No story behind the character, no cause to fight for, not even a recognizable race/planet/building/vehicle just a lot of dust.
8) I don't want to "CALL FOR HELP" just let me re-spawn for crying out loud! Let the call for help option be secondary not primary.
9) It takes WAAAAAAY TOOOOOO many bullets to kill someone. Even if the game decides to let your perfectly aimed bullets actually do something.
10) dropsuit fitting isn't good, without wasting money on the game that doesn't even have the basics working, you can't even access mid-level anything! I'm not buying advanced anything if the basics don't work.
11) Maps so boring I wanna puke. (Maybe I said this already, but lets face it, the devs expect us to spend money on this?????)
Maybe it's just me, but if I can't stand to play a FREE FPS, something is wrong. I love Free and I love FPS's even more! I'll go buy a decent one. |

.
Snipers can take out a suit in 2-3 bullets ( potentially) That's too long?
It doesn't take that many bullets per say, just may take longer than most shooters ( In which you die in a few shots ) .
Completely disagree with the "If you want to stay/be competitive you will pay more money on this game than any other" I have not spent a dime on this game and I have no problem staying competitive. All Aurum marketplace items have an isk variant ( except fused locus grenades )
For the most part, CCP has done a good job keeping a balance on P2W. (The only problems they had/have are the fused locus grenades, and a few slip ups back in chromosome regarding PG/CPU outputs) |

Assuming you play pub games... You fail in an easy role. I have never spent money on this game and still can snipe when I want to even being an assault player. To be honest - if you're blaming terrain for messing up your aim, please tell me why did you move in the first place? You can respawn immidietly by pressing backspace. And do please tell me what p2w item would you buy for 60 bucks to be competitive? |

I get a KDR of around 7:1 sniping, so I'd hardly say I failed, but you're right it is the easiest role. I am surprised no one seems to have experienced having a red cross hair and knowing FOR CERTAIN your aim was good on a STATIONARY target and still no hit.... Happens to me a lot.

In most other FPS I enjoy sniping, however, I don't stick to sniping. I used to play skirmish and go for objectives across the map.
Let me ask you guys this, (if you think Dust is as good as than any other FPS available)
Does Dust FEEL like you're in the action, or just playing a game that has action?
Don't the maps get boring after a few games? |

Also, are you seriously suggesting that an MMO have a single-player campaign? That just doesn't make any sense. You don't have to have a single-player mode for a game to be successful.
Hell, Warhawk is multi-player only and is STILL running full 32-player matches after all these years. |

Dust isn't other fps games.
KDR isn't the only measure of success. When I need to pass the time and make some isk, I hunt Caldari logis in a militia Minmatar frame, flux nades and a toxin smg.
Screws my kdr, but I'd have to die a few hundred times to lose money. |

Everything is understandable except 6,7,9, and 10.
6: Since when? 7: The eve universe will only be multiplayer. If you want a real campaign and not some story mode, help your faction in factional warfare. However, that doesn't end. 9: It's not a twitch shooter; deal with it. 10: How stupid are you? Are you the same idiot who wrote that review without knowing how the game works? You upgrade skills to get better stuff- spending money just lets you use something slightly earlier (and without the bonus you get for upgrading the skill) |

Maybe it's just me, but if I can't stand to play a FREE FPS, something is wrong. I love Free and I love FPS's even more! I'll go buy a decent one. I on Numbers 3,5, and 11, I will tell you this.
Wait for the trees.
On Number 9, it entirely depends on the Game what the TTK, and the Amount of Bullets needed to kill something. Halo 2 took 27 BR Bullets to kill somebody in MP.
On Number 7, MAG didn't have a Campaign, and it lasted for a good while. Plus it didn't have any form of a Metagame. It was like CoD. you play the MP, to play the MP.
# One is a Hit Detection Issue, so maybe it should be fixed.
A lot of the Issues you pointed out will either be fixed, or are there by Design.
Go Set passive and play your Fav game.

You have to remember CCP don't release their games after months or years of game testing or employing bug/balance testers. Its down to the player base to work out what needs buffing or nerfing. Once those things are well balanced, all the cosmetic things will be introduced and work upon and so forth.
EVE Online was a horrible game in its first few years of release; full of bugs and unbalanced weapons, moduals and ships. Now its one of the most successful MMORPG and stunning looking games out there and even to this day there are things still out of balance. CCP don't just give up on in their games after release like other companies do; they release new patches, bug fixes and content every year. Let alone actually listening to their players!
All these people who constantly complain about bugs and unbalancing have no idea or understanding of how game development works, especially in CCPGÇÖs game development arc. That said, there will always be an endless supply of people who complain about this game and my words will get sucked into the void known as Dust 514 forums.
My advice for you, if you are one of those people complaining and saying you hate the game...... stop playing, come back in a year or two. No one wants you around if that's all you're going to do. |
