CCP could give us a new drop-suit module class that could lower the damage from LAVs or nullify it completely
give us a blueprint for the standard 13$

here's 2 actual points of consideration:
first, like that linked thread, adjust collision damage & speed penalties to be more consistent. As is, sometimes my LLAV will come to a complete stop (and somersault upwards before landing for damage to my shields) after hitting a scout, other times (usually) it will ram through an entire squad with no speed loss. Make it so I can kill light & weaker medium frames if I'm going pretty fast, but with a small speed penalty for ramming lights & a medium penalty for hitting mediums (possibly with some damage as well, but needs to be careful not to overbalance). As for heavy tanks & heavy frames, damage at high speeds, but definitely not a kill, and a huge speed penalty for collision with heavy frames.
the second point, level design, guys. certain areas of many maps already make murdertaxi's difficult to pull off, while other, wide open areas, are fairly easy to get kills in. with proper collision & speed mechanics on various types of terrain the levels themselves should make roadkill difficult to impossible in areas meant to be infantry-centric, while areas meant to be more open and vehicle centric should still allow roadkills, if your team isn't situationally aware and prepared to cross these parts of the map, you might not all make it, that's how it should be. Also if flora & fauna ever get released, they could further separate these areas, if there are big alien trees and flowers placed across the fields of the map, combined with ditches, fissures, cliffs, etc. then it'll be much harder to roadkill all over the place. |

I have my own solution, and I've had it quite some time.
It's called a swarm launcher with light damage mods. |

Its not as easy to road kill now as it was before the patch. I think there was a stealth nef of collision dammage. The only way to get cqc ram kills now is with an aberon futted with a jovian as ut gets to impact dammage speed much quicker. And if you fit a nitro to it you can literally ram people at a stand still from 2 feet away. Allot more work goes into fitting a proper death cab that will survive and be a profit maker . So less of the berf lav but hurt threads thankyou verry much. |

I think if they crash into a heavy; both LAV and Heavy should get totaled. Considering if you hit a deer in a front on collision with a car; it will pretty much write off the whole vehicle.
This would also add into the risk for Murder Taxi drivers to always be wary of who they run over. |

Never thought I would agree with someone from test. lol. I will also continue to harp on the maps. I dont have a problem with the LAV. If I can hear them I can generally avoid them. What I think needs to change are the maps. We have a crap ton of tools as mercs in this game but really only 1 kind of battlefield. So people are using what works. Snipers, flaylocks and deathtaxi. You really can't blame people for using the right tool for the right environment. Dont hate the player hate the game....or the map in this case. |
