I will be very soon be specing into the exo MD because I have alot due to salvage. I tried the basic MD and i got like 7-0 with complex damage mods. Now, I want to know if the damage mods are completely pointless as I'm now shooting for direct hits, but hiding behind cover, and healing my teammates. And of course supplying them with ammo. I need to know for my MD Logi build (Caldari). |

Pretty sure they do. If you are going the MD Logi Support route, you should not worry about damage mods. You need to stay alive to support your team. You're speccing into the biggest shield tank in the game. Get your proficiency up to 4 and you already have a complex damage mod and a basic one built into every round. |

To be honest, when using an MD you'll rarely find someone run off after they killed you and say "Damn, if only I had that extra damage mod."
Especially if you're wielding flux grenades, their survival is always based on that one extra shot, or that one shot you missed.
If you aren't using fluxes and focus on supporting, then a damage mod may help chip down shields a little faster, but its negligible compared to a possible extra shield extender you could use (especially if you're on complex SE level). Comparing a complex damage mod. with a complex SE when using an MD, I'd go with the extender always. Simply, killing yourself becomes much harder if most of your HP has resistance to explosive damage. Furthermore, supporting means you can hide from the front line and use your (BIAS WARNING) bullshit shield recharge rate to survive longer.
So no, MDs and damage mods are counter-intuitive unless you've got very specific requirements, or are doing testing. Furthermore, if you're going for direct hits, you'll want that extra HP because you don't land those often. I've had shells go between a guy's legs instead of directly impact. |

I asked CCP myself in an email and they said it did.

If your weapon has a splash damage, yes the Damage modifier increases also the splash damage.
If you need additional support, please let us know. |
