I received a recruitment letter form someone trying to make a all proto logi corp. His reason was to take away all logi's from dust and then wanting corps to beg for logis ( I am not a logi ) I wasn't going to join but i wanted more information. So i added him to my contacts and looked at his K/d. His k/d was .24 with 2,200 kills. This made me think what is a true logi. If he had this vision to make a logi corp does that mean he is a good logi even though his K/d is .24. So my question is does k/d define a logi.
I think it does because if your dead you can't help at all. |

WP/D? Perhaps.
If you spent a whole match reviving 18 teammates and repping 24 back from the brink of death but got no kills and died once, what's your K/D? It's 0. But you were still a good logi. |

Isn't K/D kind of irrelevant? My understanding of a "good" logi is to be one who is repping, reviving, and replenishing as needed. Just because he has a low K/D, doesn't mean he dies a lot. It just means he dies more than he kills. What you would need to look at then would be WP per game and/or average deaths per game (if we had those stats). |

I think that Logis get kind of screwed over in the "stats to drool over" department. I wish the character sheet was a bit more in depth and gave some other stats like: WP/D ratio, # of people revived, total health repaired, WP/minute avg., # of total hacks/assists, kill assists, guardian kills, etc.
I need more numbers CCP! |

I die a lot and I'm a pretty crappy shot ( a TAR helps, though) my KDR is a slick 0.24. But my corp mates are always glad that my repper has soothing aloe vera and gives their armor that new suit smell. Ammo, reppers, links, and stickin with the squad. Fun on a bun! |

Well when you see someone on top of the game scoreboard with less than half the amount of kills as the person below them, you know you are witnessing a true logibro in action.
Or they're farming team spawn WP.

Truthfully? Stats don't define a logibro. They may define an assault player, they may determine the best HMG user, the most accurate forge gun wielder, the fastest reloading plasma cannon launcher, but logibros?
It's those moments where it feels like everything around you is on fire, and from the flames a firefighter comes and pulls you from your imminent death, drags you to safety, then sends you on your way to fight another day when you know a true logibro has just saved your arse. |

Tell tale signs of a true logi? Well imho, it centers around the three R's.
- Will rep teammates long after the WP bonus is gone.
- Will give their last nanohive to resupply teammates if it helps hold off that last enemy push.
- Will use their 80% revive on that heavy to finish clearing an objective, even if it means dieing in the process.
Does K/D ratio really matter? In the scheme of things I suppose so, since as the OP said, you can't logi if you're dead. However, as it's been said many times before, nothing feels better than topping the leaderboards with 2k+ WP's while going 0/4. |

I get some occasional BS from some elitists I squad with about KD/R or how many kills I'm getting per match. I ask them how many suits they lost, how many times they ran out of ammo, how much healing they get at the end of every fight and how many orbitals they got to use. |

lol, I still think you're a true logi. The above was just my opinion, take everything with a grain of salt, there's more than one way to logi! 
On a side note, I agree. We really need to receive ISK rewards based on how much we save, not just on how much we destroy. |

I would give a long response, but people got to it before me, so I'll just say no, K/DR does not define a good logi. If you are a logi with a good K/DR it's just an added bonus to your team. |

You are referring to the message I sent you. No, that was not my intent at all. My intent was to create a corp of Proto Logis because the logi's deserve to be revived too. And, proto's are expensive. And, it would be the best equipped group.
I said, and you need to go re-read it, I said we discussed adding other top players later. I never said anything about taking anybody from anywhere. It was an organizing effort. Don't you feel like a whiny little kid for not keeping it under wraps as I requested?
As far as K/D. I can have any K/D you want me to have. I spend my time repairing 500,000 isk tanks and reviving 200,000 isk protos. I watch guys with high K/D spend the entire match running murder taxis. Then go on local chat and brag about their high K/D's.
I don't understand how having a high K/D is useful to the guy who is going to lose his 500,000 isk tank? But if having a high K/D gives some sort of credibility, then perhaps I should drive taxi for a while? |

If your KD is above 6. then all that shows is that you regularly go up against bad players

Really KD doesn't matter since most people start out really bad in Dust until they figure out what they are doing. Only through playing with someone will you notice if they are any good.
