Many things have been said about the armor vs. shield situation and the condition of the caldari logi. But I'm here to talk solely on the ups and down of each suit and why is this petition understandable, and foremost feasible on the way of balance.
The amarr logi brought my attention because I'm very used to have a secondary weapon and wanted to help my team, so the amarr had what I want ... only on proto level, yep have the unique feature of the hole suit after you spend more than 2 million sp to obtain it but OK I don't really see why not after all is a pretty decent thing to have the only problem is the slot layout: 3 highs and 3 lows that gives you a lot of limitation on what you want.
Tanking shield: Your limitation is 3 complex shields, which at a recharge delay of 6 sec and a recharge rate of 17 per pulse, sounds like taking shield tanking on a madrugar and no shield boosters.
Tanking armor: You can have 3 complex plates but we all know how slow you would be (and the amarr logi is the slowest of all on top of that), but going that route you're literally wasting your race bonus which is the 5% bonus of armor repairers per level. "That is a great bonus to have!" you say but have in mind we have 3 low slots, so 1 for your armor repairer for not wasting your bonus, 1 armor plate for not dying before seeing the actual bonus that leaves for 1 low for having some green or red bottles for not being a tree with less hp than an advance suit, upgrading your CPU or PG output (more likely the second), reducing the time of the shield recharge (with larger numbers the percentages are larger) or improving any of the armor status to make it count.
What I just said is on proto levels, and to be honest I've never bought or used a level 1 amarr logi suit. The surprising thing is I REALLY DON'T MIND THIS, sure the other suit have way more level of customization and tanking levels yes. But that's what the amarr race is all about: being the slow movers, raw power and low level of slots available kinda hitters with unique features (just look at the commando *cough*haha*cough*).
What all this text and explaining comes to is that if we're already have the disadvantages of the proper race WHY ON EARTH THE AMARR LOGI ALSO HAS A LOT LESS PG THAN THE OTHERS!!!
After time and time of getting all the armor and equipment leveled up I realize I couldn't fit any proto equipment without making all my shields and armor enhanced or even basic level, others suits have to deal with this like the caldari but that's because it has 5 highs and 4 lows or the minnmatar but the have 4 highs, 4 lows AND an extra equipment sloh. And the gallente can even tell because of his bonus on equipment, hey maybe we should switch bonuses... NOT. I don't get why the amarr having the least number of slots still has to sacrifice so much in deciding "supporting the team or being capable".
If I never get to see this change happening at least I would like a word of a developer on the behalf of this decision before uprising. |
