I want to play a heavy. I've been waiting for CCP to get their **** together and release the remaining racial suits in any possible form and I'm at the end of my rope and losing interest in this game.
Should I gimp myself by running in a militia suit in the hope that one day CCP gets around to releasing the missing suits but will be too pig headed to offer a respec?
Or should I invest in the Amarr heavy tree on the miniscule hope that someone at CCP actually knows what they're doing and realizes they need to offer a respec along with the release? |

I'd choose the "gimp yourself" option. Better safe than sorry. And when It comes to being sorry, there is almost nothing worse (in-game) than having large chunks of SP wasted.

Gimp yourself and run militia suits. Suits are the biggest SP sink for most players. Having that much spent on little more than weaponry will give you an epic HMG. You'll make incredible profit too. |

Because the one thing you never see is a heavy complaining about their class.

I don't even main as a heavy and I'm tired of waiting for heavy suits, it is long overdue especially since that dev post asking if we would be OK with using the Amarr model as a temporary sit-in with the stats of the Gallente, Minmatar, and Caldari. |

The kick in the balls is the total head **** they played with the Commando suit.

^ Amen to that No SP is ever wasted. Wether you use it or not you still get the flexibility of having these skills should you need them.
With that said: OP, Choose the role available that most appeals to you and get it just to AVD level. The skillcost is a fraction of that of a full proto profiency fit and the difference is not that significant. Spend just a little more for tank mods and all you miss out on is a damage boost in the percentiles. Also, try and use a class that shares many modules with your preffered heavy variant, train those higher and gimp only those which you won't need later. The Amarr heavy is particulary good in that regard as it can work with shields and armor and already uses heavy weaponry.

You don't need to spec fully into Amarr heavies to be good at it. Advanced works pretty well and doesn't take near as much SP as proto. |

lol us heavies have gone through chromosome build, 1.1, 1.2 and still nothing new for the heavies. how much you want to bet that once 1.3 comes there wont be anything for us because CCP just frankly doesnt give a S-H-I-T about what we think. frankly i think CCP doesnt even want to give us our racial suits, you ask them when we will get new stuff, and instead of a definitive answer they give us the same suit minus the heavy weapon slot and half the EHP. B-I-T-C-H please if i wanted a heavy with less EHP i'd have gone logi >__> |

To give you a goal. It sucks not all racial basic suits are in. But work with what you got. Getting core skills up is working with what you got.
The dev blog today said they release in a couple months. So maybe they will have them in by then. Here is hoping. |

If you are looing interest in the game, and want to try to rekindle it, stop waiting and spec into the Amarr. If you still lose interest, no loss. If it sparks your interest again, it was worth not waiting. Simple fix. |

I will personally petition for SP spent on Dropsuit Command to be refunded when the other races are released. I don't expect it to work, but... In the meantime I'll just run the Amarr's (soft) Heavy basics and learn the role better. |

I guess the jokes on you. I don't even plan to spec into Heavy for a long, long time. However this doesn't change the fact that Heavies don't even get a part of the stick, let alone the short end. |

Convert to Amarr!
Joking aside, it is BS that they are taking so long to release the other racial suits. That said, on the matter of "wasted SP = wasted time" argument, are you not also wasting time playing as something you don't enjoy? Personally if I were in your situation I would level up Amarr Heavy Frame to 3 and use the advanced basic suit, that's only about a weeks worth of SP if I recall so not much of a loss. |

Jeez, you're still here! It's been forever since I've seen your name! Don't worry, if they're taking a long time, they're making it good. If you have a lot of SP, put it into the Amarr heavy and then you can build up more SP to get to the Cal/Gal/Min/ Heavies when they hit. |

Sorry man.... this does kind of suck. I guess the best thing to do is to keep plugging away on those core skills.
Alternatively, instead of even going to ADV Amarr heavy frame, you could just put one point into the basic heavy frame to use the STD suit. That's only what, 24k SP? That's passive SP for a day... almost not even a loss and it would be better than running a MLT suit (although, maybe not a LOT better).
Also, working on an alternate role may be viable - battlefield versatility is always a bonus. However, if you are trying to 'save' SP for when the racial heavy frames are released, this could be a distraction and siphon off your unallocated SP funds.
I'm in a similar situation with the scout suits, although i have at least 2 options on the table already and am only waiting for 2 more. But waiting on a dropsuit (and for me, also weapon skills) is getting old, real old, so I feel your pain.
I mean, CORE skills are great but after a while you get bored b/c you are still getting a reasonable beat down with your MLT fits & core skills when going up against adv/proto suits and weapons.....

Not saying I don't want racial variants as much as anybody else but for real breh the basic frame heavy suits aren't THAT bad. And you will have to spec them out eventually to access racial variants anyway. You don't HAVE to run militia or skinweave suits. |
