I'm not in PC (not to say I never will be) but the whole system seems to make it too safe for defenders.
I'm not entirely sure how this works, so bear with me. It seems to me that if the defenders win, their district is completely impervious to all forms of attack for about 2 days. There could be hundreds of corps wanting to attack it, but they can't because the first corp lost.
Shouldn't districts be constantly vulnerable? |

Shouldn't districts be constantly vulnerable? Timezone-rolling.
Same reason we have reinforcement timers in EVE.
You can have things be constantly vulnerable in games that run different servers for different countries, but if there were no timers in Dust, you'd wake up in the morning to find all your stuff taken by Russians, and vice versa. |

I think it sounds like they are going to open up more districts -maybe a lot more. |

Not really. This isn't really how it works in Eve either. Someone can show up and attack whenever for the initial attack (this is like declaring your attack in dust), but there is generous use of invulnerability timers that the defender sometimes has control over. The result is a more-or-less scheduled battle when both sides have 1-2 days notice of when the invulnerability timer goes off. |

This would become PS2 if that was the case. All districts would be flipped as soon as a majority of a corps players logged off. |

although I have no issue with timers I do find something is missing from pc.
in eve as you can see with the rcent mega super that was lost.
players can really lure users into a trap they aren't prepared for, you move into a location and then bam 50 super's warp in and your ass is grass if you can't move quick.
in dust you know 16 people will be coming, you know what map it will be, you know the time it will happen, you fight on even terms and the best corp wins.
it just doesn't feel the same imo.
in even the battles are open ended, the users define the restrictions, and a lot of surprises can happen. currently in dust everything feels very by the numbers. |

If they were constantly vulnerable then you woudl never know when a match was starting. You would rarely if ever actually play a PC it would be attackers vs 0 (or very few) defenders. Attackers would win virtually every single time. Attackers should not be able to choose when the attack starts........because then the attacker can just schedule a time that is impossible for the other people to play during. The only carebear aspect is that right now it takes 3-4 days to take a single district...with the new changes and the follow up attack ability you can take a district in 1-2 days. That is alot better timeframe for taking a district and makes winning much better. If you win alot you get bonuses for winning. Right now someone can attrition you to death. I know our ally Nyain had at least 2 districts removed....because they were attacked too much not because they lost. They literally won every single match until they got to a point where they could not possibly win (IE 20 clones left despite all prior games being a win). Why? Because the reward CCP gave for defenders if they win was not enough to overcome a corp constantly attacking and losing all 150 of the clones they attacked with. |

Why couldn't there just be structure timers in Dust?
Can only attack the command structures when they are vulnerable, but while I'm waiting on that why can't I run around your District interfering with you training newbs or laying traps and gathering intel while everyone from your corp is sleeping IRL?
People don't want Dust to be a "gentlemen's war" but they do want timers which basically require that the game is played as a "gentlemen's war"?

So long as creepers and lava exist in Minecraft (I won't even mention the evil things that can go on in a minecraft PvP server) New Eden will always be a land of carebears.
Seriously who are these vaginas who think New Eden is even remotely hardcore when games like DayZ exist? |

It's in low-sec ATM. Perhaps if/when it moves to nul, we'll see some less forgiving mechanics. One thing I'd like to see is orbitals only for those teams with Eve backup, and no clone packs. |

One thing I'd like to see is orbitals only for those teams with Eve backup, and no clone packs. Outside of pub matches, orbitals from eve players shouldn't even have a WP requirement. Just a cooldown on when they can be fired. The threat of killing your teammates is what should really limit orbitals, not a knockoff killstreak. |

Currently we do not have the means to 'fuel' the clock similar to what Eve currently does with its starbases. |
