It is you. Of all the complaints you and I make, and I've made a lot, we keep coming back, to Dust and Eve, to the party's, to the forums. I have tried desperately to play other games, and I've payed for them, but most just sit there uninstalled or into the first few levels. When I realize how much time I spend thinking of Eve, it's always the community that seems to be lacking in those other games. Th community we love, and the community we love to hate. Where would we be without our enemy's?
In 30 minutes from now, a battle will rage between 2 groups I have loved to despise in Eve. I will continue replying to this thread to keep it bumped with info. But before I begin, head over to Www.twitch.tv/mad_ani/ or Google it. |

So yeah, I'll now continue. Tell all your friends about this right now. Post in local chat, voice, whatever.
Now as I was saying. I always seem to be playing Eve or Dust, and they never seem to ask for much, so I usually splurge cash now and then on them to let them know I appreciate their games.
I have taken a break from Eve for the first time in years, but it's only to play Dust. Now the interesting part of this thread will begin. |

You know I really liked EVE I just didn't have the time for it anymore. With Dust I can log on and just play a few matches and log off with no real big commitments. With EVE its a whole production event. It takes forever to do anything and more often than not if I didn't have time I was just sitting in the station. Granted I have not played EVE since my daughter was born(5 years ago) so if it has changed since then I wouldn't know. |

All or nothing.
Dust was created with the intent to be merged with Eve as much as technically possible. I didn't really think it would even get to as far as it has already. That said, the developers knew that both games must be able to be played independently from each other. You don't have to play Eve to play Dust, and vice versa. That though is it's strength and weakness.
People in Eve will work together to profit or wage war on profitable areas, as the battle you are about to watch is what it's about. Money. (By the way, check out Evenews24.com also, biased or not, you are free to write for them.). So here we are in Dust. Some people in Planetary Conquest corporations, others who want to freelance, or are just taking a break from politics, but apparently in an ISK sinkhole, from the Eve perspective. Eve players have nothing to gain as yet from anything Dust players can offer. While I'm freelancing though, I want Dust to be my Isk sink. I have billions in assets I would put into dropships, experimental fittings which would get me owned, all kinds of things. Will there be economic chaos? Hell yeah! But that's half the fun of Eve. Will CCP get any money for their hard work? Hopefully yes, through boosters, collectibles, and those level 5 items, which people can't wait for. But there is another source of income. Supporting the games you love. I always put money into games which I want to see more of, or who I think did a good job and I had fun with.
What I'd like to ask is, would you guys start playing Eve if you could manufacture weaponry for your Dust characters? I know some people have started playing already, and I have seen an interest in Eve politics overtake their Dust role.

thanks for the heads up. I'm at work so I think I'll just listen to the music unless some action starts happening. Would be pretty sick if this became Asakai part 2. |

I believe our mercenary/FW battles really help shave off time from Eve players plexing - at least I do believe this is what I read on a blog post I randomly came across the other day. I think if Eve corps would coordinate with more Dust corps to help with FW, they'd see more of a benefit. |

Pretty funny watching Razor in their sniping Tornados kiting around and exploding those Talwars in Karan.
Unfortunately I got distracted a bit and couldn't watch, are both fleets standing down? |

Eve-kill.net
Every killmail is shown on this site. Most corporations have their own killboards, with some epic, automatically updating battle reports as links come in. My favourite being... Https://a-killed.me/?a=home&w=9&y=2012. The battle of C-J6, the best ever -A-, that is, Against All Authorities, and allies took on Goons, PL and Test, and their allies.
AAA won and three opposing alliances got so pissed off that they banded together to wipe AAA off the map.

Luckily enough, AAA initiated Operation Blueballs. No, not big blue fleet balls, but as in, numbnuts.
Operation Blueballs would ultimately culminate in the current situation arising due to boredom once AAA got nerfed/took a break and one of their diplos started playing Dust. But the love is still there
You are the Eve universe.

Not sure. What you 'don't' see or hear makes it even more epic. Think of the discipline everyone has. There are over 1000 players at least, with only 1 to 3 people talking, with spies updating information to relevant FC's., and other spies trying to sabotage fleets and info.
That is the beauty of it though. I can't wait till Dust gets fully merged into the sandbox. |
