i Still cant get my head around it. Why do you want a weapon that locks 2 targets but only 1 gets hit? It needs more CPU/PG then regular variants. In my opinion it should have a faster locking time instead of its silly aditional target function. Seriously who came up with that idea? It has beeing around for quite a long time. Just take the assault forgegun for example: it has a faster charge up time and releases the shot stright when its fully charged. Why couldnt we get that function for assault swarms? faster lock on and the missiles fire as soon the lock has beeing achieved. |

This is a good question. I've never used it as it's features are seemingly pointless. I can't think of a single situation that this would be useful. |

Lolno.
Swarms are most of the time invisible to the Pilot, can turn 90 Degree corners, and can ruin an armour tanker's day.
And you want to give them faster lock on?
Pfft, fix them first. |

Pfft, fix them first. with higher PG/CPU requirements, AV weapons seem pretty balenced atm maybe fixing the PG skill for vehicles would be better. |

The assault FG actually forces you to fire immediately, giving it some trade off..
What would be the trade off of an assault SL with faster lock on?
I guess.. decreased damage?
eh... is there a point to anything but the standard SL? |

i'd rather the assault launcher be faster missles but have less missles.
better for hitting fast moving targets, but over all less damage dealt. |

They should have longer lock range and longer flight time that would compensate for the cpu/pg. |

less range would be my Idea it takes less time to lock but doesn't fire as far. |

eh... is there a point to anything but the standard SL? Like i sayd after the lock on the missiles will be fired imedeatly. Regardless if they are mostly in cover or on open field. |

That doesn't seem to make sense, at least to me. With the assault forge gun, to decrease the charge time, it lost the ability to hold a charge. I'm sure this could be explained by some physical limitations of their modified charge system. However, with the swarm launcher, immediate fire would be a design feature as the swarm launcher is just a bunch of missiles. Why would someone developing this thing build in a clearly bad feature?
I think shorter lock-on range + lower max flight time would be sufficient trade offs. This would mean the swarm launcher is a faster firing, shorter range version of the swarm launcher which is fitting for the "Assault" variant. |

Holding R1 to lock on to an additional target with assault swarm launchers is effective in case the first target blows up from friendly av. The swarms will change their target after they are travelling in the air to the second target. |

I dig it, its been around 3 builds that the assault variant has been useless (btw its "special feature" doesnt even work anyway) Another idea would be the opposite + tracking + speed + flight time to justify its cpu/pg and increase of price. Or to shoot missiles without any trail, which would be a plus vs dropships. |
