I don't get mad at alot of the stuff that happens in this game because I can either adapt or get over it, however I find it remarkably annoying when I see 4-5 people doing absolutely nothing in the MCC or behind the red line, I don't care about MCC snipers, just people sitting there collecting minor amounts of SP and isk but not playing the game.
However I don't really have a proposal to put a stop to this. I had a couple of ideas what I know wouldn't work, like kick them if they don't move from a certain spot or if they don't have any activity for 3 minutes, these won't work because their are easy ways to avoid the kick. Just got an idea, what about a group petition? Like if someone spots a guy who is just sitting there the whole match you could say you want to kick this person and then have everyone on the team do a quick vote? But this could also provide problems when dealing with pissed off noob hating alpha male complain-about-everything players, especially if there's alot of em. Any ideas for this? Don't know if it's ever gonna be put in but I'd like to hear what people have to say. |

I propose janitor robots that move around the MCC that push the AFKers over the edge from time to time .... Now seriousely, just dont hand out isk and SP for people in MCC with 0 WP. |

yeah but then comes the problem of what if people are just coming into the game and can't really do alot, it's possible for someone to just do that badly at the game. also to get out of that you could just get 1 kill and call it a day |

What about not spawning in the MCC at all? I know a lot of people like the big fwoosh of using their inertia dampeners, but if the MCC is removed as a spawn point and you spawn under it instead, it goes away as a safe spot. Then make it so that anyone who is in the redline for more than say 3 minutes loses 10k ISK every 30 seconds unless they earn war points. That way, redline snipers and tanks are taken care of unless they're contributing. |

Don't blame afker, try to make the game more appealing, rewarding. If they are afk, there is a reason. Treat that reason, solve the problem : remove that stupid SP & ISK over time in battle, get the game more balanced, get small rewards for player to make them enjoy Dust (small SP when killed -> you should learn from your mistakes and get some XP ; small SP when defending a point (1SP per 3s near a allied NULL canon, etc...) |

MCC Afking is a problem because there is more incentive in not playing than there is playing because both activities are rewarded equally, and the person playing is actually risking something. What needs to be done is higher SP and ISK rewards for those who play, and removal/increase to the SP cap. |

I think it'd be relatively easy to detect the vast majority of AFK via code. AFKers exhibit certain behaviors that noobs who can't get kills/WPs and snipers on the edge of the map don't. Are they close to an objective? They may be running into a mountain, but are they looking around with the right stick in variable directions? Are they damaging the enemy (even if they can't seem to get a kill)? Are they firing their weapons at a location anywhere in the vicinity of enemy players (and no, shooting the enemy Supply Depot from across the map doesn't count)?
It should be fairly easy to detect more than 95% of AFKers through code. I say the first time they get a -10K SP hit, then -50K SP, then -100K SP for every infraction after. |

I agree they should be kicked from the MCC, but I like using the rail cannon in the red zone. I may look like I'm camping but I am hunting LAV's, Tanks, and drop ships. I am quite good at this and I do no think I should stop or should I let the tank on the hill kill my team. I think not and i get a joy as I watch a tank search frantically for me as I wear them down. Drop ships I can usually destroy in 3-4 shots depends on the pilots skills or drop ship fittings. |

i've got a thought, what if there was a running calculator that went alongside your performance, motivate people to sustain a certain level of performance by providing bonus SP/WP to those who are consistently performing above normal, no bonus to those who are doing ok and minus to those who aren't contributing to the teamplay. you can calculate this by tallying total movement, gunfire/hit ratios, kills and hacks/objectives. ok this has the downside to players that aren't very good at the game but it provides incentive to learn the game's tricks. it's not hard to learn how to survive in an intense firefight and if you don't learn from your mistakes then you shouldn't be playing. also i think a minimum time in the MCC should be implemented and the option to kick bad players via voting should be introduced. yes these have potential for abuse but no system is perfect and it's more to minimise the problem than eliminate.
only other thing to do is introduce friendly fire, adds challenge to the game and anyone who FFs frequently gets kicked and penalised with a loss of SP. yeah a lot of FFs could happen but that just means changing the tactics and strategies of the game. have to be more careful

I'm just here to say that something needs to be done.
I've noticed a significant increase of late in the number of AFKers. I thought it was due to the triple SP event but I may have been wrong. After downtime last night (which was SP reset so can't blame the cap for AFKing) I played in several matches where more then half of the people were AFK. Sometimes it was around 10 people on either side so still an even 6v6 match which is annoying but not game breaking. Other times my team was severely outnumber due to AFKers, which is a boring way to lose. Else we outnumbered the opposition which is a boring way to win.
There is no honor in AFKing. It is cowardice. Have you no shame? |

Im at work right now so I can't read all of these (will later) but I got an idea, have the MCC cannon use them as ammunition if they stay in too long :) kidding, back to work! |
