What do you mean by skill bonuses? If you mean the 10% more armor from maxing the skill required to use armor plates, then I imagine that it does exactly what it says, increases armor plates by 10%.

Does anybody know how the skill bonuses apply to the new plates? It would be interesting to know, I'm out at the moment so I'm unable to check.

From what i seen the "armor plates skill" do effect

1. Ferroscale plates. Not by a hole lot.

2.Reactive plates. Nope not at all. I complex Reactive plates on a suit they are giving me a -1. on a base suit and 262+45=307 but dust says 262+45=306. It also doesn't effect the rate at that your armor is repaired. Don't use these. They are junk.

Stick with armor repair+ ferroscale plates if you want to use the new junk.
