Seriously with planetary conquest and all that we should have a way to create and join alliances within dust. Its stupid how you need a player from another game to deal with alliances.

It's extremely stupid how you have to either start paying for EVE or make an EVE player your CEO temporarily (risky) just so you can join or leave an alliance. Regarding creating alliances, I think I remember hearing that creating a new alliance in EVE costs 1 billion ISK, so with no direct ISK equivalency it would be difficult to implement that into Dust.

I do hope that those abilities come soon, maybe even in the update this week (I heard there's some PC stuff).

Really!? It costs isk to just offically anounce that your buddies with some other corp. Thats downright stupid. Seriously though if CCP want PC to become a big thing then they need to replicate real diplomacy. By that I mean alliances, paying another corp to attack your enemy, etc.

Having something an in-game mechanic like alliances depend on another game on a different platform is a flawed idea and will only hold back the games potential.

Planetary Conquest, having an alliance with a powerful corp thats sitting right next to your districts will save you quite a bit.

However, I think another problem that is also not fixed yet is the maintenance fee for the alliance since alliances also are EVE side it will require you to have a corp wallet that can be linked to that fee.

But like others mentioned I think the biggest problem is that 1b ISK in DUST is not the same as 1b ISK in EVE, and not sure if CCP should be the one that sets that conversion rate or not...

But I'd approve of them fixing it bc then maybe we can start moving ISK between EVE and DUST... at which point many wouldn't have to bother about fitting costs any longer...

Its risky depending on an EVE player you dont know. Also why cant dust players make alliances free of charge? Its stupid.

Right now the only benefit to having a dust only alliance is a fancy name on the forums and alliance chat in game.

Everything else you can do without being in an alliance.

It's pointless really. At least without being in an alliance you could surprise your enemy by bringing in the friends they didn't know you had.

I would basically assume full alliance functionality is coming. Its just not a high priority since at the moment the state of PC and eve-dust interaction means expanded alliance functionality wouldn't translate into anything particularly concrete or useful.

Like Eve, creating alliances from Dust will probably require maxed corporation skills. Most people will just do what they do in Eve now, pay someone the cost +20% as a fee to create your alliance and transfer it to you. Right now the base cost is 1 billion isk. That's a lot of money in Dust, and while its still a lot in Eve, its much much MUCH more manageable to get.

That doesn't seem like it would require a game mechanic. Can't you just make an agreement with another corp... in the literal sense? Even if you were in an alliance, they could still ignore it and attack you I assume - what with New Eden being backstabby. So, having the alliance doesn't change much I wouldn't think. Either way you need to agree not to attack another corporation.

If isk is opened up between eve and dust, I promise you pub matches will be proto stomped all day everyday until the game is just boring. I saw it happen in closed Beta. The only thing in those matches were non stop tanks and dropships. Infantry became useless. The amount of top notch tanks etc. to hit the field would be insane. I quit the game for a few months because gun game and tactics were just thrown out the window. Hopefully it will never again come to that.

I apprieciate your response and thank you for not ignoring this thread.

Surely though it wouldn't take much though to just implament something much like the way you create a corp. Instead of paying a huge amount like in EVE have a small amount payed like 10 mil then also have skills like you do for corps.

Your already half the way there with the alliance chat and the game able to recognise alliances.

10m isk for creating an alliance? well, that would certainly provide Eve players with some of the benefits of Eve-Dust interaction, everyone would make alliances in Dust and transfer them to Eve players.

Like I said maybe relate it to skills? 1mil SP per corp in an alliance?

An alliance is created by a single corp and corps can join/leave at will.

Dust players can make dust alliances.
Dust alliances are only valid in dust.

I'm not entirely sure on war declaration mechanics in EVE, but making alliance creation minimal ISK investment or free; it might lead into cases where target alliance of wardec in hisec could shred the war by disbanding and forming under another alliance. But by wardec-mechanis-fu isn't strong, so I might be totally off base here.

When Retribution released (don't mark me on that) there were a suite of changes to make avoiding a war dec much more difficult.

If you leave an alliance that is under a war dec, your corp will be placed under a war dec that expires on the same day that the alliance war dec did. The aggressors can choose to pay the bill or not to maintain this war against you.

I'm not sure that you can join an alliance if your corporation is in a war, but if you can then the war dec follows you and gets applied to your new alliance.

There is more to it than just saying we are buddies with x person. Concord (NPC police in eve) can be paid to allow high sec wars to exsist, if you declare war on a corp in an alliance you declare war on the entire alliance. Also it is how alliances claim space, when they erect sov structures it shows on the map who owns the section of space.

no offense but 108 likes only for a responce saying not on our priority list is op.

we need this like yesterday. this game has been out way to long for this feature not to be implimented
another thing is the lag in planetary conquest is that not in the priority list?
needs to be urgently fixed as the game mode alone is unplayable with lag.
