I saw this happen and you didn't have full armor and shields. Your shields were down and your armor almost gone, but the flux still shouldn't have killed you. Me and my buddy were sniping you when some blue dot finished you off with a flux. |

Flux grenades right now are doing dmg to both shields and armor and CCP has already stated that they know about it and have a fix ready for it in the next patch. |

Me and my buddy were sniping you when some blue dot finished you off with a flux. Sorry but you must have seen somebody else. I was holding the bridge with about four others. The enemy's attempts to get on the bridge were thwarted by our remote explosives and AV grenades.
You're also missing the point, a flux grenade should be doing 0 damage to armour, not even 1 hit point of damage.
And I assure you, you are mistaken, I changed my fitting and died at the same time as the flux hit me, from swarms to an AR fit to deal with the opponent coming onto the bridge who subsequently killed me with a flux through a wall.
My guess is that this is a variation of the GÇ£jumpGÇ¥ glitch, whereby jumping at the same time as being hit by a flux will kill you. When you change fittings you seem to GÇ£dropGÇ¥ from a very small height as the server puts you back into the match in your new suit. The flux hit me at the exact moment that I changed suit. |

First a Flux Grenade has an undocumented explosive damage amount. If a Merc is Standing On a flux grenade it will most likely kill that merc, even with full armor. Being close to the explosive nexus will still count towards your clone reduction. This been true since the closed Beta. A squad mate that used to run Heavies used Flux grenades heavily. And he got at least a kill every match. Even on Proto gear that looked healthy, right up until that sucker died.
You changed from Assault to AV which will not change either shield or armor values. They are normally the same suit and the eHP is only reset when a Completely Different Suit is selected.
One last item is you have at least three computers involved in this effort. Your PS3, CCP server (somewhere) and your enemy's PS3. The server is responsible for resolving hit detection and while sometimes it will appear that you are safe the server believes you died. When the typical slow CCP server connection gets around to resolving the problems you will suddenly die. Welcome to the net.
All this means is you accessing the Supply Depot may or may not be captured by the server such that you are safe for even a moment while a grenade strips your life from you. |

I haven't made any assumptions that I'm aware of...
You have made at least two however - firstly, my AV suit IS different to my AR suit, I use scouts for AV as they have better sprint and can out maneuver a tank much more easily.
Secondly, I wasn't under fire and I was in very adequate cover. The map that has a bridge spanning a small gorge is very defensible, and while not impenetrable, I was not under any immediate fire. I saw an enemy coming from a mile off and changed, he threw a grenade ahead of his position and the blast caught me through a wall.
What matters really is this: Flux grenades are not supposed to do any damage to armour, whether in the GÇ£nexusGÇ¥ or not.
All you have done here is tell me that what I experienced is not what I experienced, and you will have to trust that I am right. I know this game very well and I know my connection issues and when they are present. This was not one of those times. |
