If you visit the Intergalactic Summit, you probably know by now of some tensions rising up regarding a planned assault by Matari terrorists on Amarr citizens. But in case you haven't,
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=92542
Now this is getting quite interesting but the problem remains, how do we proceed from here? It would be great if the two sides could agree to let the results of in-game battles determine the outcome of such disputes. But ever since Uprising, the only way to created organized battles in through Planentary Conquest and that creates too much of a hassle for what could be a simple fix.
I know there are plans to bring friendly corporation matches back in the form of the Arena mode, but I request that it be placed at a higher priority. I mean, if it was in before how hard can it be to bring it back, even if it doesn't affect FW like it did before and even if there is no real lore behind it like the Arena mode plans to do (afterall there is no real lore behind instant battles).
The role playing side of the community desperately needs such a feature. Even if it were not to officially change anything within the lore (though it would be awesome if there was a way for it to do that!) it would be nice for our own little fiction we create. |

This kind of stuff should be in events, like the Caldari Prime thing. |

Perhaps if certain disputes in the IGS gain much traction we can submit them to someone at CCP and they can approve of whether or not to include them in the lore. They could then either make a big event out of it like the Caldari Prime shindig or simply have us arrange our own battles and report the results. That way we can actually affect the lore while preventing every little kid with some crazy idea for a conflict getting considered canon.
CCP, if you are serious about Dust players having real impacts you should seriously consider this. |

maybe in these battles we can also see a pre set suit for each class. like the Templar thing... but better. the matari could have their own suit design and then the amarr side could have the amarr suits. the suits could be bpo and would not cost anything, make them so that they are fine against each other but on the militia lvl in a normal match.
the event suits are trophies that no one uses except to show off in the warbarge so they need to be bp and this could be a cool thing. |

I like the overall idea however it undermines all our work building skill points and acquiring our own skills. Perhaps put some restrictions on what suits you can use so if you wish to participate you must have skilled into them or buy the militia. I do agree it would be cool to see a full Amarrian team facing off against a full Matari team.
As to event suits, if they make them BPOs they are still trophy suits since BPOs are militia or standard grade and thus not very good. What they need to do is give them out in higher batches. 100 would be ideal in my opinion. |

Yeah I would love to see some themed battle types where players can set up matches against corps, factions, etc and get some real player created content down.
I would love to see a siege game mode that would be amazing for me....
Back to the topic at hand. Yes we need ways to set up FW matches and corporations matches so we can get these sorts of arcs and plots organised. |

I think faction warfare should take the role of that. in the old corp battles they were issued by the factions and the corps placed bets on them. I think this is what faction warfare should be that way it isn't just a bunch of randoms against the teams that are Qsyncing.
i think the corp should pick a side and then stick with that side until they decide to choose. |

From there you get a special channel which you can use to co-ordinate attacks and plans....however those are usually rampant with spies and AWOXers however it does allow you to see friendly FW pilots by a purple militia symbol.
What I think dust would benefit from is a similar system. Players sign on to militia's and gain that militias benefits, could be reduced gear costs while in friendly FW space, boosts to Passive SP gains or Active ones in battle, and that factions LP store in which to buy nice gear and equipment. Miltia leader boards could be released showing total LP, kills, and WP scored in FW matches while corporations could also be listed there showing combined stats from dust and eve about how much effort they are going into in the war effort. |

Since 90% of my ISK goes towards Amarr dropsuits, laser rifles, scrambler rifles, and scrambler pistols, I would sure appreciate a way to align myself to an Amarr militia and get reduced prices on Amarr goods
Ok, so that 90% I made up at the top of my head, but I don't think I'm that far off. The only non-Amarr goods I buy are modules and equipment, as well as some Vipers from time to time. |

in eve you earn Loyalty points and can use that to purchase gear, maybe we could bring that in to dust. mercs can pick the faction they want to fight for and every time you kill an enemy who is allied with a rival faction you earn LP, and you can use that lp to purchase gear from that faction. would be a good way to save isk for us logi broswhos suits can cost in the 300k or more |
