This could be used for several different things, like countermeasures, a drone bay, support modules that help the grunts on the ground, etc. Some hulls should get more than others, like the logi versions should get more than say the attack versions.
Potential list of equipment:
Homing AV countermeasure
Cloaking device
Mobile Clone Reanimation Unit
Mobile Supply Depot
Drone Bay
Bubble shield
Remote repairers
That's all I can think of now. Discuss.

Cloaking looks possible. Supply Depot is good. Missile Countermeasures are a better idea. We already have Remote Repairers and Mobile CRU's last time I checked. |

I said homing aV counter measures because there is more than one type of homig AV 'coughs' AV grenades 'coughs'. Also, I want to move the r. Repairers and MCRU to this for better sense. Taking away defenses to help others is stupid. Especially the MCRU. |

Yea, it would only protect. No shooting. Of course, if you got inside somehow (scout suicide w/e cloak anyone?) You could maybe plant charges on the vehicle and kill the vehicle, they would be screwed |

I think it's more, people sit there thinking dafuq would a Tank need equipment slots, and we don't sit and think about the possibilities, I like your list, that brought me around ^_^ |

A giant chomping shark mouth on the front so I can eat LAVs?
Also a HAV than can hold 6(including pilot) and let some shoot out would be nice! Or equipment that count as places people can hold on to / hide in while the tank is driving so your squad can "hang on" between objectives. |

There's not really a need for separate equipment slots on vehicles. Infantry only need an equipment slot because none of their normal gear is active. All of that stuff could just be normal active mods on a vehicle. |

But see, here's the problem with that: Like Dropsuits, we need our slots for defense. With this, we could still help out team, with different gear. |

May I suggest another type of vehicle equipment?
Secondary weapon systems.
For example, different types of missiles. Air-to-air, air-to-ground, and standard missiles. A-A missles and ATGMs will have high damage and high tracking, while standard missiles have less damage and less tracking but can lock onto any vehicle/installation. Laser guided missiles can be another type of missile, most useful for ground vehicles. Bombs can also be a secondary weapon system. Some secondary weapon systems will be limited to certain vehicles.
I won't get into details, but just the basics. They will be used for tactical advantages rather than for raw fire power. Unlike turrets, they will be limited on ammo count. Depending on the system, ammo may be extremely limited. Supply depots will resupply these systems but at a rather slow rate. |

So, what, load it up and use it, kind of like EVE ammo? Well, they stated that we'll be able to adjust that once we get weapon customization. |

It's different from EVE ammo. Secondary weapon systems will be, as their name suggests, secondary. For example, here's another idea that came to mind: light auxiliary blaster (HAV only for now). You switch from your main turret to the LAB. It has decreased damage output, which is why it's secondary. But it will be limited on ammo, but will have a fair amount as opposed to a guided missile (for example, 100 rounds for the LAB but 2 guided missiles).
The only usefulness for the LAB will really be useful for pairings with railguns and missiles. It will be better for taking care of infantry than a railgun or missile, depending on situation. It gives railgun/missile HAVs the tactical advantage of being able to deal with infantry themselves, but it will be inferior to its 'parent' system (LAB will have less damage output than even small blasters, but I'm thinking it could have high damage, low ROF, such as an auxiliary HMG on a tank in BF3).
General characteristic features of secondary weapon systems: limited on ammo, goes into a vehicle equipment slot, and has a 'parent' system but the 'parent' system will always be superior (guided missiles can have high damage outputs, but long reload times and extremely limited on ammo such that its parent system, missile turrets, are superior). You might be able to switch back from a secondary weapon system while it's reloading though, or will have to wait until it finishes reloading the next round or clip, depending on balance.
Long post hehe. Got excited |

Wait, how would they design 2 Large turrets onto the hull? lol, It probably would work better being ammo. |

I apologize if I was unclear. For example, the LAB as mentioned above can be as simple as a small gun barrel protruding forwards from the large turret. It most definitely will not be a second large turret. Guided missiles can be simply attached to a hardpoint on the turret. Anyone will also be able to see how many you have left
Edit: I might make a thread on Secondary Weapon Systems giving a better look at them. I think they will work great with vehicle equipment slots as you suggest. But I'm off for the night o/ |

It is meant as a side thing, just like equipment for ground troops. They would not take up the main cannon (even if they did, nobody would use them).

Lacks polish, but definitely good ideas. I like the idea of vehicle equipment since they already have things like active scanners that would fit into those slots.
Although I do think a cloaked tank would be either pointless or immersion breaking....and don't get me started on the idea of a cloaked murder taxi!

Well, it was just a idea. I wasn't planning on "polishing it. Maybe I should........ anyways, there is a HAV that is "supposed" to have a built in cloak, called the Black Ops HAV's. And right now, I can think of several ways that cloaks would work well for HAV's. |
