Cloaking is gonna be annoying if/when its added no matter what probably haha, but I thought this would be kinda cool way to add it in for everyone that is kinda sci fi.
When players are sprinting they are cloaked, based on a percentage added from some new skill, requiring dropsuit upgrade 5 maybe. If players stop sprinting they come uncloaked or if their shield's are regenerating, so if you take damage you aren't cloaked.
This should be an expensive suit upgrade, adding 15% per level for a total of ~75% Transparency with some sort of predator effect. Players should probably still be visible on the minimap and hud from scanners or from recently being spotted.
It would be sweet (and annoying lol) to see a few guys come uncloaked with some cool effect like the RDV out of no where, scaling transparency up and down instead of just popping.
Just another bad idea I had while playing |

This is OP. Scouts are the only players that need this. Picture a heavy with this. Done here |

Exactly, picture a heavy wasting tons of SP to cloak across a street. With a ramp up and down of the cloak there would be no real cloak time for a heavy without lots of skills and a module and even then it might not be worth it.
Scouts and people with lots of stamina are the only ones this would really help.
Like I said, cloaking will be annoying no matter what, heavies and scouts pop up behind me out of nowhere a lot anyway though, plus snipers, orbitals, lavs....
The biggest problem I see is people starting to sprint then stopping, and having a effect going on and off all the time for no reason, so it could be set up where you have to be sprinting for X amount of seconds before it kicks in and last for X minimum seconds afterward or something. Could also have the transparency based on scan profile, so scouts are harder to see than heavys.
Cloaking has already been mentioned a few times by devs, I dunno how they plan on doing it either, how would you guys like to see it added then? Item on the ground that cloaks everyone? Something that can be turned on? How is this worse? At least like this people will have to be moving, the other options are for campers. |

This could also be affected by Scan Profile, making people with small scan profiles have higher transparency, while higher scan profiles are easier to see.
Also, your suit should need full armor and shields for it to work, should need to be a full working suit. |

If they do add cloaks, they should do it similar to Killzone or Crysis. Like if you move, we can see parts of you. If you shoot, the cloak turns off. And it drains stamina so sprinting make it go down faster. But seeing as how snipers will be using that which is good. If your crosshairs are on them they turn red. And maybe for the skill itself reduce stamina usage per level. And for some variations of cloaks, some could reduce how much of your body is shown when you're moving but uses more stamina. Some could use less stamina but show more of you when you move. |
