I am not trolling here, it's a legit question. Don't you guys ever get tired of just going where ever all the top guys are? How long can you possibly keep this up? When the next batch of New Eden stars pop up do you have your speech ready for fusing up with them? What is so bad about competition? |

You know how it goes, nobody likes being on a losing team.
I know me personally, well...i had an opportunity to join the three respective top corps at the time, and i decided to go with HS because I felt like they had the most potential and were the # 3 corp (again, in my opinion) out of the top 3...being a toss up for number 1 and 2 between PFBHz and IMP/IE.
I went there because I felt like i could contribute to the team and hopefully help them beat the top corps at the time. I like playing the best people in whatever game i do play competitively...and you know some corps/clans just dont have the personnel to win against the top corps/clans. |

Just posting to let you know that IMPSwarm was behind everything and secretly pulling all the strings. If IMPSwarm is destroyed the body of the IMP train will fall to its knees. |

Ya it's been this way since GB. I like to win too. I guess I just got lucky because the rank of the 2 corps I have joined were not questions I asked. I joined PFB for my friends back in MAG that I missed playing with very much and that is where they were residing the time I started playing Dust (with the seduction of YoungCuz and some messages from Slaps26). Than after PFB was going down a hard time all my friends had stopped playing at the beginning of Uprising, they barely logged on if at all. So when everybody was leaving after getting cussed out I left.
YoungCuz told me he could get me in Internal Error but I decided to pass on that and go to T>* because as you know I knew Cubs from Socom and reconnected with him when seeing his name in local chat during Chromosome beginning. That is fine that you decided to join Hellstorm. I was not talking about individuals joining top corps anyway.
My point is why do some feel the need to look at the leader boards or forums to see who's on top and creating power through all the top players? There is a difference from joining a corp on your own or going the Report,Abort, Disband route. We all know These kinda people go 100-4 than after that 4th loss they are gone and make damn near the same exact corp with a diff name. I guess it's fine everybody has the right to take the route they want. There's nothing wrong with good competition though. |

Ive never understood it either, but its just the way of competitive online gaming. Back in GB there was a ladder, where your record was out there in front of everyone. I would think that had a lot to do with it cause the nerdz didn't like themselves to be associated with anything other than a goose egg in the L column.
worst part is, we see it all the time in games where there is no official 'ladder' or W/L is closely tracked (aside from those from the inside bragging and boasting from time to time)
I personally have a different perspective, and first and foremost put together a clan that enjoys each other's company, plays well together, and happen to be competitive at the same time.
sure we all want to win, and take pride in being a well balanced team, but at the same time, we are far from perfection. We lose, we learn from it, and get better, jumping ship or disbanding isn't even a thought that crosses our minds.
I tend to steer clear of the kind of players that are only interested in 'ME' or are interested cause my crew is doing well or what have you.
I look for personality, communication, and the ability for someone to leave their ego at the door when on the TEAM train.
actions speak louder than words is something I learned long ago and yes it really does apply to online gaming.
forum jockeys and clan hoppers only provide motivation for others... probably why Nikia has had to double his medication :P |
