Several problems recently
Misfiring - The turret simulates the shot with the sound and recoil from the gun but no shell is fired and no damage is given to the target, sometimes the shot also adds to the overheat level and sometimes it doesnt
Delayed shot - Like the misfiring you fire the turret and the recoil and sounds happens once again but the shot is delayed and you see the shell get fired a second or 2 later but it causes no damage to the target and sometimes adds to the overheat level and sometimes it doesnt
Overheating - Sometimes on the last shot when the railgun would overheat it will not fire that last shot and just stops firing, noticed it happens more if you keep your finger on the trigger
Misifiring happens more often and the delayed shot also its around quite a bit, i use a heat sink and it happens if i dont use it also and its highly annoying because battles against other tanks is ruined because it should be dead yet i can fire 3 shots and realise im causing no damage because nothing is getting fired yet im getting hit |

I would also like to add, I fire one shot and release the trigger but the rail continues to fire til it overheats only no damage is being dealt and you cant fire again until it finishes the entire sequence.. this has cost me not only kills but several high $ tanks and turrets when i cannot fire to defend myself... Dust sux more and more as each day passes... 10 days til D3 hits the playstation3 tho.. {0.0} |

I'm also having those issues as well and my other corp. mates are having those issues as well.

Previously known as it was introduced in Uprising 1.0, but is currently unrecognized by CCP/Shanghai as an ongoing problem.
Misfiring can normally be fixed, by the player not their programmers, by aiming briefly at something else. Fire a round and if you see the resulting explosion of a round actually hitting something the gun will work when you go back to the actual target assuming it is withing the 599m range of a Rail Gun.
Note that the alternate target Must Be In Range and the round Must Explode or Pop. Rounds disappearing in the distance will not address the issue.
The delayed shot is just a misfire with a delayed animation is my best guess.
Overheating on the last round is probably tied to timing of the current set of rounds and the amount required to be available to actually have a round fire. If there is not enough headroom in the overheat the round will not fire occasionally. This might be by design. Although who can truly know what is by design or is yet another bug? |
