I see dropships more as helicopters than planes because of how they can hover and controls. Maybe instead sit the turrets out on the wings in a ball turret design with a belly gunner too. Similar to the transport ships in Star Wars Clone Wars where they are guns for pilot, then additional turrents and a bay that can be left open to fight out of.
A true "Spooky AC-130" setup would be interesting, but then I think the ability to hover should be removed, elsewise I see one of these monsters hoving and raining hell repeatedly on whatever instead of being forced to circle a point. Also an elevation limter to the turrets so the pilot HAS to dip the wing for shots to be on target. |

please remember newton's 3 laws every action has a equal and opposite reaction like puting a tank cannon on a helicopter imagine the recoil. |

There is a fundamental problem with this idea. Vehicles can't become effective infantry killers without generating huge QQ.
What dropships need are several useful support missions that won't create immediate nerf threads. |

I want a Minmitar HAV as follows:
Minmitar HAV:
LAV with a large rail gun duct taped to the top
Movement speed and agility is the same as a standard LAV
Keep large rail turret as the 3rd passenger gunner position (requiring communication between driver and gunner to be effective due to high movement speeds)
Obviously higher CPU and PG
Higher shields and armor (make it a rounded 2000 for each) standard
3 high slots, 3 low
One small passenger mounted turret slot
Actual inertial physics: when you fire the rail gun in forward or backward facing orientation, the LAV slides backwards or forwards respectively, firing from and diagonal side orientated direction causes the vehicle to rock, or flip and roll wildly out of control if fired at 90-¦ to forward orientation.
Firing large rail gun while in motion exacerbates these effects.
It would be so amazing to see a LAV with a large rail speeding all over the map and then flying across the field when you fire the turret at an enemy. |

well railguns don't really have recoil, at least not in the conventional sense |

Not really. What if the physics makes it so that those forge gunners end up hitting the drop ship, instead of the target they're aiming for?
