Since scout are meant to be speed and stealth, so they should be able to ninja hack objectives. Also they are weaker when it come to defense, so when the scout suit should be faster than the medium and heavy suit.

I agree. it should replace the current scout bonus. Even if it means lowering the base radar signature of scouts to compensate. This suit is in a pretty bad place at the moment. It could use a buff to its HP potential but in order to keep it in its niche, it shouldnt be a massive buff. Scouts are bound to remain paper made in comparison to other suit frames.
But, they need to have a more tactical role as they're intended to be. Some suits to use with caution but that should be able to tactically impact the game.
I think the 2 equipment slots some add in Codex was a good idea. Equipment = Tactic. Add to that a bonus to hacking speed for Scout suit. And a buff to PG\CPU to support the second equipment role (and\or allow a better fitting to max HP a bit more)
And then we'll have nice scouts able to do their job. |

"in order to keep it in its niche" "a more tactical role as they're intended to be" "we'll have nice scouts able to do their job"
I know it is unfair to take the above phrases of context, but it would appear that CPM Laurent Cazaderon holds strong opinions -- and perhaps insider knowledge from CCP -- as to how CCP intends for Scouts to play Dust.
Is it the position of the CPM that Scouts should be relegated to non-combat roles? Is it the position of CCP that Scouts should be relegated to non-combat roles?
I find these assertions by a CPM troubling. What has happened to the role of speedy assassin? If this role was scratched, we'll have quite a few upset scouts.
Sincerely,
Shotty GoBang

"in order to keep it in its niche" "a more tactical role as they're intended to be" "we'll have nice scouts able to do their job" I know it is unfair to take the above phrases out of context, but they strongly suggest the existence of either knowledge or opinion as to how Scouts are intended to play Dust. I'm not trying to sound hostile or coy; I'm simply seeking clarification as these assertions are inconsistent with my perception of the various roles a Scout may play. Is it the position of the CPM that Scouts should be relegated to non-combat roles? Is it the position of CCP that Scouts should be relegated to non-combat roles? If this is in fact the case, then we Scouts should brace for a continued lack of combat viability (even following a possible buff). I, for one, will greatly miss the beloved role of "speedy assassin". Sincerely, Shotty GoBang
It is only my perception of the suit based on its description. It clearly states it should be used for action in situation where stealth and speed is needed. The description itself suggest it will be a suit that is pretty weak and requires being smart to be used properly. Hence me saying it's a tactical role, and also a niche.
But you're mistaking what i'm saying. I dont say it should be a non-combat role, far from that. But it cannot be used to fight like you would with an assault or a heavy. Your approach has to be a lot more tactical.
So yeah, to me it's a fast stealthy intervention role. Not made to engage massive firefights but to strike a target quickly or take control of an objective in a stealth way. Never did i think it should only run, put uplinks, hack stuff and retreat.
Bottom line, i'd start by buffing what makes it so specific and not simply go for HP.
To finish, dont think my vision of scouts is how things are gonna turn out. Far from that ^^ For the sole reason that i m very aware i dont have enough experience playing scout to have the perfect solution. |

+1, CPM Laurent Cazaderon. Thank you very much for the response and clarification.
It would seem that we're on the same page, and I'm relieved to hear that the Council isn't expecting Scouts to lay down their scopes and shotties and blades. We very much like killing things .

I think the OP's point is that Scouts in general should have an advantage for hacking. Being on equal grounds with a heavy in terms of handling technology isn't the same. Scouts already aren't built for combat, so hacking sneaking in, quickly hacking objectives, then getting away would be a more tactical espionage thing that should be right up a scouts alley. |

You could have base hacking speeds compliment your dropsuit type
Light dropsuits get an increase to base hacking. This is more there style and they can get one OHK with virtually any weapon so the less time spent hacking, the better there chances of survival.
Medium don't change. As a support you will probably do some hacking. As an assault you are supposed to be well rounded.
Heavy gets a slight nurf. They can take a lot more damage while hacking and should actually be the ones guarding the hackers in the first place.

A hack-speed bonus would be nice, but I would not want to trade it for the scan profile bonus. I realize at the moment the scan profile doesn't matter much, but I have hopes that one day it will. To me, stealth and speed are king.

It helps. I played a match the other day where a squad full of protos were guarding an objective while waiting for the virus upload to complete and they had no idea I was even there until they got the "virus upload failed" message. |

A heavy guarding a scout? No thanks, I don't want to light up as an X-mas tree or wait for a fatty to trail behind me when I skip over hills and pipes. |

I don't agree with the idea of a hitpoint buff, however the rest of the ideas are interesting.
Like Shotty and Matticus however, I strongly believe that stealth is a core part of 'what makes us scouts' and have hopes that we will one day be able to use such skills more effectively than currently. |
