I was just in a match of 1v1. (For some reason Ambush games right now have between 2 to 6 players) And the enemy got me dead to rights. He was on a blaster turret, I was behind cover and I had no where to go.
I thought "hmm, if only I could distract him". And then "oh, wait a minute!"
So I brought in an LAV and he started shooting at it. I took this oppurtinity and snuck up behind him. He thought I was sitll behind cover as he was shooting where he thought I am. Three pulls of the trigger from my Burst AR and he was toast.
I really can't believe he fell for it, I was going to die no matter what I do! |

Alternatively I would have left a free LAV in the open for someone to hack while the LAV is rigged with proximity explosives. LOL |

This is a great example of someone playing within the environment and playing Dust, not trying to play Dust like it's some other game. Many of the complaints I've seen about the game are from people trying to make Dust conform to what they've learned in other games, although there's nothing inherently superior about those games' approaches to the FPS genre beyond marketing and bro power.
Once you're free from trying to make Dust into a different game and simply play the game in front of you, using the environment and the game mechanics, Dust is a great game.
(I love the tips on the LAVs, so here's one of my own. When sniping from an area without great cover (for example, near the enemy's MCC), I will call in an LAV to act as my own personal cover, sniping from behind the vehicle. Counter-sniping someone in such a position is quite hard, because the Tacnet display of the LAV interferes with zeroing in on the shooter.) |

I intend to do the same thing for my AR Heavy....with an LLAV...up close....
