We have tons of equipment to choose from. Sometimes I have difficulty choosing my equipment. What we don't have is original content. To get away from the CoD and BF feel it would be nice to start getting a sandbox feel in here that CCP has become so famous for. If we could stop focusing on bringing us new equipment and new vehicles and maybe getting us some new options. New ways to make SP and ISK without having to grind out the same battles game in game out would be greatly appreciated. PVE, administrative background roles, full scale player markets, gambling dens, markets, anything! I'm finding that this is becoming a bit of a chore. I sign in on Wednesday and Thursday to grind out my SP then it's "see ya next week!" I want something to do when I have no more SP bonus. A reason to sign in outside of the fact that there's weekly SP caps to be met.

Give use more stuff to do.
THEN get us the new combat tech and Suits and vehicles.
Please, this is getting stale, even with new guns to play with.
PVE would be enough to give a good enough variety until all basic suit, vehicles, and weapons. |

Fairly certain that the guys working on new maps, the guys working on new game modes, and the guys working on new weapons aren't all the same people. Getting one thing isn't necessarily coming at the expense of others, so to say "stop working on that and start working on this" is somewhat silly. It'd be like going to a restaurant and telling the waiter to stop seating new people because some tables haven't got their food yet. They're not the ones responsible for cooking, so it's illogical to tell them to stop doing their job until the chefs finish. |

Resources are resources. If someone is building mechanics for new weapons they could be building mechanics for new gameplay options. If there's no dishes to clean the dishwasher can bus some tables. We have enough equipment, help work on something else or fix the stuff that's broken before adding more. |

Its all about specialization, its not nearly as simple as putting someone on a different project. |

Resources are resources, but taking someone off the project they've been working on, getting them up to speed on what you're doing, and finding something for them to actually do once they're there can just as easily be more trouble than it's worth. There comes a point where additional manpower doesn't actually help anything--- Too many cooks spoil the broth and all (I'm hungry, leave me alone.) To me, it's better to keep everyone on the projects they're working on, getting new content as it's completed, rather than say "OK, all you guys who were working on that new Ambush map? We're doing a new game mode, so join the team that was designing the maps for it instead." Shuffle people around after their current jobs have been completed, if you must, but don't say "stop working on this and start on that instead." |

It's still all about resources, they're developing stuff we don't need. They're paying people to make stuff we don't need. They could be paying someone to make something to keep the game alive and thriving rather than straggling along and getting beaten to death in major reviews. |

Alright, I can definitely make an amendment for this. Stop telling us only about the equipment they're working on and start letting us know about/when we will be getting sandbox options and how this game is going to start differentiating itself from other FPS games. I honestly don't even look over the equipment that will be coming out as it has little to no relevance on the game anymore due to the continuing balance issues they're showing with the current equipment. I would definitely be interested on seeing updates on something that will make this more than another average FPS. |

Considering that the whole Dev team is only 28 people, I can understand the time it takes to make stuff happen, I think sone indie games have more Devs then DUST.
But back in 10' PvE was brought up, and the Devs said Soon TM.
I understand the tragedy Soon TM puts on the time a project takes, but I mean....
3 years?
It is just a request for less emphasis to be put on the guns and such, and more on sandbox elements, because these wil bring variety to the game, and help the newberries get out of the way of proto gear and keep some customers for the long run, because when PvE hits, that gonna be like the only one II play, and many people will be like that. |

Agreed! Yes they all fall under the broad catagory of "Resources", but it's not logical to yell at the waiter to get in the kitchen when it's not his job nor will he be good at it. |

Again I'm not saying they need to take the weapons guys and throw them into an existing project. I'm saying stop trying to get me excited that you're adding more redundant equipment. I'm actually somewhat insulted that they expect people to be excited that they are going to be adding more equipment when they can't go one update without smashing current items with the nerf hammer. So what if they add another gun that does more damage than the rest or has more range or destroys the flavour of the month suit? It's going to get nerfed in a month or two and be useless anyway. If anything take the guys making the new weapons and make them fix the old weapons. If you tell me the guys working on new weapons can't fix the old weapons then we're more screwed than I thought. In the meantime, don't blog about the weapons we're getting, blog about the progress we're making on getting some sandbox content. Unless it's still years away and they're afraid of losing people when they mention it...

Good thread, but it doesn't understand how development works.
I'm pretty sure there are different teams working on content and gear- not the same team throwing content on the back burner. |
