There's actually 2 tones. The headshot one echoes. Then there is another that doesn't echo but don't know what makes that sound happen.
I personally think It's cool, and complaining about a in-game sound is pathetic when there are bigger things to worry about. If it disturbs you that much, lower your volume. |

I play Dust about 5-6 hours a day and get an average 4-5 headshots per game. At first, I thought it was a glitch or something then realised what it was.
However, it could do with being turned down a touch. Be good if your victim heard it too.
Makes me laugh thinking about that... |

Non lethal head-shots are a quieter version but one shot kills are far too loud and have reverb - sounds more like a piano has fallen from the sky |

I absolutely hate it... please CCP gives us an option to disable the sound... or even better give us an option to use the silent headshot notification. I loved the 1.1 headshot sound...
bring it back!!! get rid of this **** you put in with 1.2! |

I like Having a head-shot sound that is noticeable. The new sound is not as loud as many complaints state. It is, however a terrible sound quality-wise. I'm sure it will receive further refinement down the line. |

Option - 1.1 (which I absolutely love), 1.2 (the game show / cartoon sounding trash) or disable.
Please CCP - stick that in options if possible and move on. |

We should be able to mod our client by changing sound files.
