First off, thanks to CCP for producing a quality game that doesn't cost a cent to play. Cheers to that. Also, getting new patches nearly every month is a great way to keep the gameplay fresh and dynamic.
With the addition of new items and other patch-related material comes a lot of whining (myself included) from people wishing they could get their sp back to spec into the new stuff. A great example is the release of a new dropsuit class (commando) after we've already spent 3m sp to max out an already existing suit.
I would like to see an optional re-spec every time a certain amount of sp is earned. For example, every 3m sp you earn, you get the option to re-spec. So to be clear, it wouldn't cost sp to re-spec, but when you hit 3m sp you get the option, then when you hit 6m sp you get the offer again. And again at 9m.
The 3x sp week coming up is a great way to dish out a bunch of extra sp to help get some of these people closer to their objectives. However, it doesn't benefit the entire player base, only those able to be on for that particular week. Also, if a player did want to devote their clone to the new commando suit, and were never going to use their other proto suit again, they have a bunch of sp not enhancing their game.

You Knew this was coming since late May.
You Could have saved SP so you can get the OP FOTM DS/Weapon/Vehicle when it comes out, but you didn't.
Its been over a Month Since the Pilot and Commando was announced and you didn't think to not toast your SP's on that skill, and saved 10-20k to get STD commando or the like.

Look I'm happy with where my sp is at, and I especially don't want anything to do with the commando suit, it was an example. However, we don't know everything that will be released in months to come, and it shouldn't be necessary to hoard sp for the reason of "just in case." Because this game will constantly change over time, it's fairly safe to make the assumption that your play style will need to change with it.

No. Reasoning one the new cammando suit it's a heavy with 2 Light weapons not very scary to me personally its like heavy's you see today with a GEK instead of HMG. The triple SP week is to help us get those dropsuit started if we got a respec every 3M we would try every suit till we got one we like but I like to say well we had respecs so your screwed so better go find something your good at because I'm testing out things I like while still having my things in order. I mean if we got another Respec every1 would use OP things against each other then the game would get costly its balanced at the moment let it so Now save your SP because there's more builds to come and having SP saved for anything that would be good the next builds would be advised because every1 who went into something and is ok with it is staying with it tell they see something they like and spend it on I am going to try to have 300k of SP saved at all moments then get 1M after I get in that new Pilot suit. |

This shouldn't even be an issue. If the game was actually balanced, people wouldn't spec into op weapons. All a respec does is let people freshen up the game without spreading sp across different roles and being a third as strong as everybody else. |

This won't happen. Believe me. I said it once I will say it again.
1. The impact this will have on the future economy is a negative one. Market shocks from regular respecs will undermine the efforts of those who poured months of research into predicting market trends once the economy gets started because then people will change their demands abruptly and ruin any chance of market speculation.
2. CCP needs proper data and metrics to balance out the weapons. If everyone respecs into the OP flavor of the month, there will not be enough folks utilizing other things that aren't OP thus skewing the data and risking an improper nerf on the OP item or potentially making a seemingly weak item overpowered.
3. Accept the permanent consequences of your choices. You join New Eden, you follow the rules of New Eden. |

4. with those 3 million SP you can just spec into something else. You don't need CCP to give their blessing for getting you into a different role. |
