I've been trying to download the update for the past 5 and a half hours. It is abysmally slow, as it is whenever I have to download something from the PlayStation Network, and I've lost connection three times when trying to download it. But it won't resume where it left off like it does when you download from the PSN store so I can't finish the download.
any advice

dude i have the same problem, we need to petition to CCP that whenever they update a game like that either let it download inside the client because thats how i downloaded uprising because it saved whenever my DSL connection went wonky. Or for they would release an updated client in the PS store so we could just redownload it from there without problems.
Hey also put up these kind of similar posts in general discussion where you could get more publicity for more people would now about our problem |

I had been downloading for 12 hrs 30 min. I was at 74% when I got an error message from PSN. I restarted my ps3 and recieved the same error. I reset my router then checked all my settings making sure they were still good and they were. I retried the download and it went up to 2500 min download time (4 days) then got the same error.
I deleted the game and started a fresh download from the ps store. I had to update the store first (30. Min for I think 58KN)
CCP please if possible can you make a digital copy, downloadable to a mass storage device. This is how I download and install all of my PS3 updates.
PSN is just...well...horrible for a lot of people.
Tech info
Broadband DSL
Wired connection
PS3 in dmz
Download speed in test prior to 1st attempt about 470kb/s.
Download speed prior to final attempt about the same.
This tells me it is obviously PSN. |

This is the exact same issue I had when Uprising came out, and now again with 1.2. From what I noticed it's only game software updates over the size of a gigabyte I can't get through. I've had this issue with other large updates for games like Battlefield 3 as well.
This is definitely a PS3 issue and not CCP's fault, however they could fix the problem their own way through something like one of the other post or release the updates in smaller quantities like 200MBs per section. All put together in the in-game client.
I sent a support request last time this happened and got nowhere but hopefully they will take our advise in one way or another. |

Yeah, I actually did post this in GD for some publicity. Didn't help much. I did finally finish after the 7 hour mark. It's the PSN. If we could download it off the Tranquility server it would be smooth, or if they updated the PSN Store's version to be fully updated it would be fine.
Uprising 1.0 was fine because they replaced the client download in the store, 1.1 caused the same problem, and it will happen again for 1.3 unless something is changed.
CCP Mintchip seems to surf the GD board but won't touch upon the technical support page where she really needs to be, nor the CPM board where she could have answered questions... |

I had issues DLing as well. I finally got it downloaded and have other freezing black screen issues. They really need to add the latest install to the store so I dont' have to try to download from scratch again and THEN patch up again and again to try to get a clean install. |

This would seem the best way to fix the problem for CCP. I'll try again while I'm at work but it certainly eats up a lot of data when it fails repeatedly. |

Mine took a few hours but I had no problems. It still was incredibly slow considering the size of the download. I blame PSN. |

If anyone wants to post their findings on Master's solution, I think I need more than one confirmation before I go deleting stuff. It says it stores Character Data there, so I'd imagine that'd be how to get rid of your characters. :P
Nothing personal, just don't want to risk 4.8 million SP going down the drain (Although that'd be like a free reset for my character :D)...
EDIT: Just realized you didn't delete the Data folder, but your just deleted the launcher. Sorry all! Yea, I did this to try and fix several glitches I have. Not important ones. Just ones that are making me go nuts. :P |

Your Character data is connected to your PSN account through servers. That's why we can log in on other PS3's and on the forums. I'm currently testing Masters Re-install findings and about half way done. |

So I won't lose all my SP, ISK, Contacts, etc, after deleting my Game Data file? I'm sick of these glitches and whatnot. Messed up sounds, messed up textures, UI, and whatnot. It's all my PS3's fault. No more 'Download in Background' for me. I have a feeling that's what did it. |

Same thing here. Download was just fine up until around 70%, and then it started going sloooooow. It did actually finish, eventually, and I played a few matches. Next day my PS3 was dead.
CCP are notorious for frying GPU's with EVE already, so it's not really that surprising, but it is extremely worrying. I have never seen a game company that so predictably and repeatedly manage to destroy actual hardware.
EVE still has an "interval 0" option in the graphics settings, with no explanation for what it does. It pushes your GPU to 100%, and keeps it there. |

I hope you guys are back in game by now. The fix is deleting the game and the save cache then downloading from PlayStation Store again.
Only negative effect is that you have to redo your sensitivity and sound settings. |
