Yes, the way I read this is if you play at all Wednesday, you're still screwing yourself. It appears that CCP has no control over this. It's either they don't care, or they can't change it. My assumptions are it's too hard to / they don't want to change any code revolving around server downtime and resets so their events are thrown sloppily on top of it all.
And they deal with the consequences. Is this result of Iceland/Shanghai cooperation, or communication or what?

Is this result of Iceland/Shanghai cooperation, or communication or what? actually acording to what they just posted you will earn the same amount of SP if you play on weds than if you skipped weds and started thurdsday sp cap =1000 cap wed get 2000 added to your cap = 3000 dont play wed get sp cap of 1000*3 = 3000 either way you get 300% of your weekly cap

That is correct. If you play Wednesday AND hit your weekly cap, then the extra SP cap from the event will allow you to keep playing starting on Thursday so you will still recevie the triple SP from the event. The total amount of extra SP from the Triple SP event that you can earn is the same whether you hit your cap on Wednesday or not. In other words, you won't miss out on earning any extra skill points from the Triple SP event if you hit your weekly cap this Wednesday.

This does leave the question about the end of the event, and if there will be essentially a chance to get an extra triple SP cap during one day after the first week or not. |

If i recall the problem last time was when they said "Ends this day" It's not clear if they mean once that day Starts or once that day Ends. So yes, we don't know still. This is why time zones/timestamps clear all sorts of mess up around such issues.
If they said, for example, "Triple SP will not be earned a moment past 7AM EDT on Wednesday the 10th" then it all makes sense.
But saying something ends "Wednesday". is like the English problem of indicating something happens "next weekend" vs "This weekend". Do they meant at the end of Wednesday AKA midnight |

For example if you have a coupon that reads "Expires Wednesday, July 10th". This generally means that is the last day you can use it. In other words the coupon is VALID THROUGH the duration of Wednesday july 10th.
If what you mean to say is that the event expires some time other than Wednesday at midnight (time zone assumed* to be Iceland) then this is still ambiguous.

Sorry, what I'm saying is it's double speak to say this is the same as last event, and ends Wednesday.
When last time it went from Whenever to Thursday, one day past reset downtime. |

Everyone new Wednesday was included, Thurday was the problem, remember, you made a thread

So TL;DR = grind like hell Wednesday.
As a PSA to people who if I was spiteful over the last event I wouldn't bother informing.

Last triple SP event I capped out the main weeks 900k SP, then on the wed after the downtime I capped out another 900k in one day, took me 12hrs and a half liter of vodka
