 In EVE (based on EVE Fitting Tool info) the second damage mod actually is slightly more effective than the first. The third is slightly less effective than the first. Then the fourth is worthless. I'm wondering if it works the same in DUST. Anyone have any idea how the stacking penalty actually works?

 Nope. Stacking Penalty has been in game since the very beginning, it just never displayed right on the fitting screen.
 
 No amount of testing, data, or logical argument could ever convince the majority that Damage Mods weren't broken, however.
 
 So CCP removed the Damage Modfier stat from the fitting screen, and instead replaced it with "Armor Damage Modifier = 0.0" (wtf?).
 
 Nary a "OMG Nerf OP Damage Mods!" thread since.
  
 Wish it had been traded for a relevant statistic, but that's life...

 Presumably the same as it does on the vehicles and refers to armour resistance, Also is it just me or on the vehicles fitting screen it shows armour res but not shield res, or is that just because my alt uses armour vehicles.

 Nope. It's because the "Damage Modifier display error" was a slapdash fix that was seemingly not QA checked. (Also, because snarky players like me gripe about the error in threads like this instead of reporting it in Feedback. Waitaminute...)
 
 As for the stacking penalty, some industrious DUST player figured out that the penalties are very close to the EVE ones. Close enough that his numbers were more likely off due to testing error than them actually being different.
 
 Mostly safe to assume the numbers are accurate.

Any time I've checked the numbers they were a match so I'm curious as to which ones were only close and mine have always been the same in game as when using the formula.
