Rather then CCP giving across the board SP respecs, via a skill (which i would freggin love just like MAG had), why not just give respecs for that specific gear added. Here's an example- CCP finally adds more god damned heavy suits CCP then respecs people who speced into amarr heavy their SP back rather then giving everyone their SP back.
CCP adds more ARs? People who speced into ARs get their SP back. What do you guys think? Would you like something like the aforementioned or perhaps a respec skill? We know CCP will be adding more suits and guns soon(tm) and people will of course be pissed since people like heavies were forced into using a specific suit and weapon. |

Why even bother having skill points then? Sounds like you just want everything unlocked. I have a better idea, don't allow anymore respecs ever. |

That's pretty much what they did for EVE, so they are already open to the idea.

This does make sense though for when new racials come out, and allow respecs for just the affected skills (not everything). There is a far cry from a new suit coming out (Command releasedfor example) and new racials (Gallente/Minni/Cald Heavy released) |

Not a new idea. Use the search function. Edit:

Do you have a source on this? This would be really surprising to me. |

No, I was referring to the early two-thousands when fundamentally new stuff was rolling out.
I'm not talking about completely new respecs, or completely new content making them, I'm talking about "this tree is filled out and fundamentally changed, so we're going to refund the effected skills." |

"early two-thousands" is possibly just after release and could be almost ten years ago.
Without knowing specifically what incident you are referrering to i can not assess your interpretation that they are "already open to the idea".

Respecs could work by not having them anymore. |

Tell that to people who were forced into one suit that only has one racial variant. Which is why i mentioned heavies If you want to play heavy you MUST spec into amarr heavy because all the other suits haven't been added yet and amarr doesn't suit everyones playstyles.
The same goes for weapons Not everyone wants to use the Gall ARs and not everyone wants to use the SCRs. Until all the variants are put into the game why SHOULDN'T people get respecs in any way shape or form?
Don't just say "herp derp no respec GG" list an actual reason.

On the off chance that my first response has been overlooked, those questions/points have been brought up, discussed and answered in several other threads ad nauseam. Neither your idea nor your questions/points are particularly new and you are a little late to the party if you expect people to go through this debate yet again just for you.
Use the search function to get an overview over the current state of the debate and if you feel like contributing to this discussion with new ideas drop a line in one of those threads instead of breaking context by opening a new one.
