So why I am doing this?
Mainly to vent a little. I have seen a few changes to Dust since I started and some have been good some not so good. Although the nerfing of weapons and suits because some couldnt handle them is my main irritation with CCP at the moment.
It seems that as soon as a suit or weapon comes to the for front of why you die so much then CCp needs to "fix" it. None more so than the Heavy. This poor guy has had his weapon and suit killed because many couldnt handle them. Apparently staying far away and grenading them was too dificult to figure out. Now I suppose I can live with a weapon that is half as usefull as it used to be but did CCP also have to make a heavy suit ( Standing toe to toe with tanks) killable with a side arm in a single clip?
Now I will admit that my game play has something to do with it but if you max out the armor and shield on a heavy then it should take a little more than a millitia side arm to kill it.
Now dont get me wrong I am not asking for any weapons to be nerfed. No weapon is OP in the game they are all fine. But make it a little more realistic in future. Cause if my heavy can supposedly stand toe to toe with a tank then CCP is making some really crappy tanks.
But it seems that those that whine the loudest get listend to the most.
Heres to wishful thinking.
P.S. CCP please forget the Commando and bring some heavy suits. We know you dont like them but we do. |

I don't know man. Heavy tears about the suit itself or HMG seem unjustified to me.
The suit has more HP than it did in Chromosome, and it's an even split between armor and shield now. That was a buff in my book.
HMG does the same damage it did in Chromosome, when people QQed about it being overpowered. It now has 10% less range.
Things that suck: Sentinel blows. Heavy Type-II (which I loved) is gone until we get racial suits. It's a smaller SP invenstment for an Assault player to go Commando than it is for a Heavy player. Tons of new weapons came out, Heavy still has same two since closed beta.
I think it's fair to complain that heavy is regularly shafted in the content department, but to complain about what is in game being underpowered... get good, son. |

Thing is is that it must be under powered if side arms are such a danger to it. I am happy with the weapon as it is and it is something I have evolved my game play around.
I know that heavy suits are bullet magnets as standard but give them a chance. Heavys should be something that is feared not something you rub your hands at when you realise you have an easy 50wp headed your way.
Heavys used to be something that others saw and ran. Thats why they are great for point defense. But all that happends now is "AH Heavy, He slow, me stand and shoot from far away and only waste 2 bullets". Why not remove the class all together then.
I dont want CCP to nerf anything else just make a heavy heavy again. |

Here's the thing: almost nothing changed.
The heavy now is nearly identical to the "heavy of the past." HMG lost 10% range. That it is. That is the only significant difference between current and Chromosome heavy.
If other things in the game changed that make you feel less powerful, identify what they are. Then ask yourself if it's truly overpowered, or whether your tactics need to change to adjust to it.
CCP needs to give us our racial suits and design at least one more damn Heavy gun. That is what the Heavy class really needs. |

Sadly this was spoken about in the days of Chromosome when Corp Battles were the norm. Threads were made in Feedback and General sections talking about NOT balancing heavies based on pubs...and that's exactly what CCP did for Uprising.
I've come to grips that CCP does not care about heavies. All I want to see now is how the HMG range is gonna be affected by the revised weapons ranges coming in 1.2. I hope the spread of the weapon IS NOT increased as the range increases. If it does, then increasing the range on the HMG makes no sense whatsoever cuz of the spread.
Please, PLEASE, keep lock the spread after 10-15 meters, and just lower the bullet dmg over range.
My next problem is the lack of suits, and having no idea when they're coming out. lolcommando suit is not a heavy suit that can hold a heavy weapon, so that doesn't count. |

User feedback, apparently.
I think they mean in game data. They see a bunch of heavies using not heavy weapons and go "Hey, they really like those light weapons! Let's give them more light weapon stuff!" (applause) Instead of going oh...well, did we remember to keep HMGs in the game? Where are those numbers....could it be that....heavy weapons...are less appealing than light weapons?

I think the heavy is fine, maybe a few small tweaks but nothing major.
What I would more so like to see would be a CQB option in the match-finder. The heavy isn't made for large open maps but that is what you normally get regardless of what game mode you choose.
When I move to the compounds normally the enemy are no where to be found and if I go outside then normally the enemy have been killed before I can even get to them.
True I could call in a LAV but I don't want to spend SP on them just so I can find an enemy in pub games and MLT versions are just death traps. |

Oh the tears. The tears are so awesome! Seriously: You just want invincibility, the Heavy is not there to give you that. The heavy is a fine suit, 1000 BASE eHP without any modules on is more than enough. Just use a thing called "cover".
What I don't like is the HMG, I used it a little so I can't say anything about balancing, but I can say I had problems using it. However Heavy + AR was is a damn good combo, lots of health and range. |

The heavy is still a decent suit, our weapons make it useless.
They're not necessarily increasing the range of the HMG. They are removing the hard range cap, but they're doing this to all weapons which have it. This will make the HMG just as effective as it is currently.
IMHO the best way to fix this is to buff the HMG max range and effective range to 20% more than that of the AR.
I think they should also increase the splash damage and radius of the Forge Gun. Currently at proto the blast I believe these are less than the Flaylock. Go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Surely you jest, sire.
HMGs are NOT assault or long range weapons. Increasing its range beyond the ar would make it OP and defeat the people of supressive fire role.
Forge guns are meant to take out vehicles with ease, NOT infantry.

Killing people with it should be challenging, so all I have to say is HECK NO about your forge gun idea.
The HMG is point defense, it's not supposed to do the same job the AR does, so I'm not sure if that's what it needs. |

It certainly does not need boosting in radius or damage.
HMG effective range being on par with AR but with increased recoil I could get behind. More at-range potential than the AR but significantly harder to tame and direct in practice. |
