you know how some shooters have like uhh.. those loadouts with higher level stuff available?

why doesnt ccp just put together some decent standard or advanced suits, fit them to compete with other suits and uhh.. make them free and infinite for players with less than 1-2m sp.

let the nubs try out everything and still be able to compete? i dunno. i don't think anyone enjoys being massacred in militia fits over and over while they train into a weapon they don't know the first thing about. and its not like youd be giving them proto fits or something, just temporary access while they get their **** together.

oh im a beta tester with 14m sp btw, so please don't bother if you're going to say what i think you are..

I was thinking of another stage between academy and the actual game (boot camp?) for players with between say 600000-2 million SP to better bridge the gap between the 2 stages we currently have.

yeah cuz i mean.. everyone sees them. they run out into the open, they're shooting you with the ar at long range, kind of doing wonky stuff.. they dont know wtfs happening and they dont really have a suit that can take the abuse.

i dunno.. bubble wrapping them a bit and giving them limited access to a lot of weapons to learn couldnt hurt. i like your idea too though.. i just think having them thrown into these games with like stacked teams on the other side isn't going to help them, they'll get obliterated in 1-2 hits and be like why dis happen?

New players should be confronted and trained early on in the art of fitting and speccing with better tutorials and more easier accessable info. Prefit suits just further shelter them off from understanding what is a central apect of the game, leading to the same problems just a little later and worse.

CCP should just make a tutorial mode where evreyone is set to a 0SP character.

That way people can jump in and out of training and real fighting (using SP).

yeah.. but i mean giving them some basic tips by example couldnt hurt either. you know like uhh.. an advanced gallente suit with damage mods high and plates and a rep low, or a caldari with some extenders and a shield recharger and relays on the lows.. just so they can see it and try it out.

like i don't even think a lot of these new players are fitting stuff right. their hp is really low.. probably have like sensor mods on their mlt heavy or something, who knows..

but yeah i think better tutorials would be cool. definitely something that could be built on further with the introduction of pve, too.

I believe what he's trying to suggest is having a game mode where everyone that joins it has their character reverted to 0 SP for the duration of that specific match. I suppose that would make it a very basic game in which everyone is at an equal skill level with basic weapons and basic gear.

Or maybe like academy mode, divide the game into 10 tiers, people can freely enter higher tiers but people with high SP cannot enter lower tiers.

So here is how the tier system works.

The 10 tiers correspond to 10 different levels of SP

 Tier 1 = <1,000,000 SP
 Tier 2 = <2,000,000 SP
 ...
 Tier 10 = <10,000,000 SP

So people can freely choose to enter higher level of tiers (better ISK and SP reward) but those with high SP are limited from entering lower tiers.

 See it's elegant and works.

"where do you see yourself on the battlefield?"
"are you a grunt with raw power or do you prefer the specialist role"

And based on the answers the tutorial recommends parts of gear starting from the class then race, role, tank, guns etc.a.n. so you fit your suit based on your goals and the game just shows you the items that achieve them.

Could make it based off of Security status of the planet/sector as well...
 Hi-Sec = mlt/std gear only
Low-Sec = up to Adv gear
 Null-Sec = everything
 All regardless of sp.
Let the individual decide where they want to fight, how much of a challenge they want & what
they want to risk. Higher risk = better rewards.
