An open letter/request/suggestion to the current big fish in Planetary Conquest.
Having been playing the game for just over a month now and amassed the modest sum of 3.5 million skill points, I've only had the chance to take part in three PC battles. All of which we're pretty brutal.
Having seen the forum posts about corporations selling districts got me to thinking about a way of opening up Planetary Conquest to a new group of players. Those who don't have the numbers to field there own core team to those who have just not considered trying it before.
That and the post about the fight club thing prompted me to finally write the idea down and see if it was at all doable.
Stay with me here while I try to detail the plan.
Ideally it would require two new corporations and two districts, although at a push I think I could make it work with one district.
The two corporations would continually fight over the two districts, flipping between attacking and defending respectively. Most of the action for District 1 would take place nearer the weekend, while District 2 would be during the week. If the weekend was the fav, we could alternate the times between EU/US etc.
By staggering the times when matches would be scheduled for each district would allow replacement clones to be generated (keeping expense down) and giving two different sets of days to take part. With the intention being, if you can't make one hopefully you can make the other.
Gear would be limited to militia or basic gear only. Thus reducing the gap between newer and experienced players. This would go for vehicles and tanks as well. Nothing can be done about skill point numbers.
A public channel would be created so anyone that was interested could join a team. Obviously someone from the respective corps would need to make the team and sign up to the battle, but essentially anyone could take part.
Up coming battles would be posted on a first come, first served basis.
That is the basic idea.
Why am I asking for the support of the big fish?
It's really you guys that have the power to make this happen. You control the districts, you have the squads, gear and teams to take them away if you choose to.
Not only that, I'd like for some of you to take part. To join in and help people enjoy the game more by opening up this relatively small segment to a wider base.
In closing, I think something like this would only promote and benefit Dust 514. It would allow people to develop tactics, make new friends, find recruits for corporations and build connections to form or join alliances. All of which would make for a more varied and diverse war zone.
Please ask any questions, post feedback and let me know what you think of the above idea.
( I have a lot more ideas to bolster this but thought I'd start laying the ground work now). |

i have read over the post again and i see it as a small version of fight club which would make it more manageable and would require less corps to participate but, spending 80mil on basically "pointless" attacks would not go well with most corps.
Saying that if you could get the participants to play... 80mil between 16 players is only 5mil and with the new system coming the 2nd would be easy to organize.
What you say makes sense.
I'll need to do a small charity drive to get the first district up and running.
Once the first district is up and running am I right in thinking it takes a week for it to stock up on clones?
To BlackArt,
If I can get one district I will try and make it start and see how it goes from there :) |

Does not look like this idea is getting any more backing. |

Another good idea.
I'll start putting together a list of names at the bottom of the original post. Hopefully we can get interest from a few alliances.
Perhaps someone can help me with that. Just who are the current big fish in PC? |

Indeed it does :)
I'll correct that!
Nevermind, this idea has been shelved due to low interest. |
