But it isn't clear how exactly both timers work.

When and what kind of damage resets each timer? If you take damage to armor does that reset the shield delays? Which one would it reset? How does the server 'see' damage? If you get 'hit' by 4 assault rifle bullets in a server 'tick' is that 4 separate hits, or one aggregated hit? What is depletion exactly? Do shields have to go from 100% to 0% or just below 0% from any damage? Can you reset depletion timers then? When does the server start to tick the shiled delay timer? If you take low amounts of continuous damage, and the timer starts counting from the beginning of the damage, could you effectively end up repping your shield during damage?

 Lots of uncertainty IMO.

This has been stated already, and is clear if you pay attention: It will start no matter if you have taken damage until it starts up, but if you take damage, it will stop, and the timer will restart.

It will start...until it starts up...but if you take damage it will stop...and will restart. Please reword too confusing...

  You're being difficult:
 step 1: get shot

step 2: wait until shield recharge timer stops

step 3: shields recharge OR you get shot and go back to step 1.

During the timers, you can get shot without the timer being effected.

That's as simple as I can make it. If You don't understand that, your either a idiot, or too drunk/high to understand, an d you need to take a nap.

 Peace, Godin

You are saying here that getting shot won't affect the timers...

Timer starts as soon as your shield takes damage
Any damage sustained until shield starts recharging will not reset the timer
After recharge delay has been reached and shield starts recharging, this whole process can start again if you get shot

 ex:
 / -->Get hit by bullet
 | 7 second recharge delay begins
 | Get shot again after 5 seconds has passed
 | 2 seconds left till shield recharge
 | Get shot a 3rd time at the 6 second mark
 | 1 second left till shield recharge
 | Shield starts recharging
 | Get shot
 \ --Whole process starts again

Feels like an error, just feels weird shields can recharge even when your shield is still taking damage. Shield depleted I would understand but not when you still have shields and still taking shield damage. The point of shield tanking is to get in, get the job done, then get out. But with the current shield recharge mechanic, they could recover even in the middle of battle.

I'm not certain that your description is correct, but I haven't done the testing myself. In any case, I do know that all the depletion and damage mechanics seem even murkier because of the difference between what your client and what the server see.

 Basically what I'm saying is:

Thank you. This is what I've seen and doesn't feel right. It is especially bad for the mass driver as it has trouble sustaining direct damage.

I harass Cal Logis and Heavies like this. Even if I know they are too far to be killed I keep taking pop shots so their shields never start back.

I want clarification because this will matter much more as people are fighting in the reduced damage range of their falloffs. It will be easier to sustain that damage, but unpredictable timers will be frustrating.
